Printer Suggestions

Hi Everyone,

After searching high and low, I cannot seem to find good information on printers that my meet my needs. So I thought I'd turn to you, crafty colleagues, in the hopes that you may have suggestions for my new printer.

The printer will be used mostly to print paper designs or digital stamps on standard copy paper and cardstock. However, I will also be using it for school and other mundane printing tasks. I probably will not be using it for photos.

I would like both a rear feeder and a paper tray if such a printer exists.

I do not need to print 12x12 or larger pages. Standard letter size should be sufficient.

I'm not even sure if I should go with laser or inkjet.

I want good quality prints, but I also don't want to have to spend lots of money replacing ink often.

Does anyone have any suggestions or a printer they love?

Thanks so much!

I'm interested to hear what others say as well. I'm looking for a printer that will take thick card stock (like SU) with a straight-through manual pass (to reduce curling).

For better prices on ink - you have to pick a laser printer. But I think this ink smears when used with digital stamps. (Havnt been able to test this since have been busy with work). I have a dell multifunction 1815dn that takes cardstock. This prints in black and white only

I have a cannon inkjet Pixma that prints on cardstock. - lovely pictures. This is color. This eats ink like crazy but I buy 5 packs of each ink color (cheap - off brand) and keep on hand.

Both were good prices

Also printers are quite good prices these days. What if you had one of each? Best of both worlds. Ok I am enabling but.... Overall if the had to pick one - I would pick a black and white laser.
