We are on our 3rd HP printer in 15 or so years and that is the only brand we will buy.  Cardstock goes through fine (even heavyweight) and it doesn't jam, ever.  If you go to an office big box store you can compare models and prices.

Just got my second Canon Pixma that will take cardstock through a top feed up to 12x12. The cardstock doesn’t go through a roller like regular paper does. My last Canon was ancient and I hated to let it go but a printer repair guy told me parts weren’t made any more.

One reason I go with them is that Canon’s customer service and tech support is in the U.S. When my old Canon was no longer talking to my iPad or PC and a new driver (software) was needed, the tech spent a good 45 minutes on the phone helping me with a workaround fix, since drivers were no longer made for the model. 

Sometimes they have deals, and give a discount if replacing another Canon. I think the color is quite good. It even has some stored patterns to make 12x12 paper but I keep forgetting to try them, and don’t use 12x2 much.
