Default Diesire metal dies

I have 5 new Diesire dies, have followed the suggested sandwich to use to cut them in my Big Shot. It didn't cut. I then tried a precision base plate, shims, rubber mat. Nothing will cut these dies. Has anyone else had this problem? If so please tell me how you solved it. They are very intricate but none of my intricate dies from other companies have a problem cutting in my Big Shot. Thanks ahead for your help

I got an Accuquilt Go! cutting mat from Hobby Lobby with a coupon, and use it for "fussy" dies. It's a self-healing mat, and I bought the 5" x 10" one (pictured below). You have to fiddle with the sandwich to see what works in your machine, but it's never failed me yet!

Sue, thanks for posting this info. I will put it on my shopping list for Hobby Lobby.

I have issues with a couple of dies (mixed brands, no consistency in predicting by brand name that I have noticed) and it sure would be nice to another tool in my arsenal for these pesky, persnickety dies. 😎

I will report back here after I've secured the self healing mat and had a chance to use it.

Oh, one more question for you - are you using a Big Shot or some other machine? I have both BS and Cuttlebug and could use either one.

Just another day of impulse shopping for me. Thanks, Sue! I just ordered the Accuquilt mat on Amazon for $7.99, and I don't even have very many intricate dies! Kidding. I have a couple that are pretty frustrating to cut. I'm looking forward to getting this.

I have a Big Shot, but I'm sure it would work in the Cuttlebug as well...

I only have one and it's not a fussy design and I still have to use a metal shim to get clean cuts. I won't by anymore of their dies.
