Default Stamp-a-ma-jig vs Apple pie memories positioner

I've been stamping a while, but never invested in either the stamp-a-ma-jig or Apple pie memories positioner. I'm making a list for DH for Christmas and thought this might be a nice tool.

Any advice would be helpful.

I just watched several You Tube videos on both and I think I'll put the Apple Pie Memories Positioner on my list.

I have had a stamp-a-ma-jig for years and love it. Can't imagine not using it on so many projects.

Sure. Here you go:

YouTube - How to use a Stamp Positioner

YouTube - Mass Producing Cards using a Stamp Positioner

If you would like to see other YouTube videos of this one and others, just put in the search cell: Stamp Positioner

It looks like I'm going to really love it!

Thanks. Archiver's carries them and I just e-mailed DH a 30% off coupon.

I think he shared my original Wish List with the children and had to come back and ask for a long list, so I filled up and e-mail with goodies and made sure he had coupons!! LOL

I have the SAMJ and use it ALL the time. The bottom has some sort of fabric-like material with a short nap that helps it to not slide around on the paper. It doesn't look like the Apple Pie positioner (which I had never heard of) has that, and personally I think it would be worth the difference in price (which right now is $1).

Am I the only one who, in her head, calls it the Sam Jay? Anybody??

I have something similar to the AP positioner. I hate it. The sides aren't tall enough for you to be able to position the stamp correctly. I have the SAMJ and LOVE it. It is tall enough for you to fit your stamp correctly and just slide it down onto your paper. Plus as NwP says, there is a non-skid material on the bottom that keeps the SAMJ from sliding. Plus the fact that you can make additional sheets to go with the SAMJ out of stencil plastic or other thin see-through material (especially if you have images you use a lot) makes this choice a no-brainer in my book. (I just watched the video on YouTube, and where she says you don't want to use permanent ink, is exactly one of the reasons I love the SAMJ. You can use permanent ink on extra sheets you can cut for the SAMJ - this works especially well for sentiments. Stamp with Stazon or other permanent ink, save it. Then you can use your stamped sheet to place your sentiment any where you want it, without having to stamp it every time you want to use it.)

Can you tell I'm partial to the SAMJ???

I have the Stamp-a-Ma-Jig and use it almost every time I stamp.
It has a foam backing, so it doesn't slide around once to get it were you want it.
