Default Paper cutter help

Hi guys! I know there have been a ton of threads about paper cutters but I can't find what I'm looking for. I remember at one point somebody talking about a cutter they loved and it had some sort of magnetic guide to ensure the paper was straight. Any idea which one this is? I'm in need of a new cutter as I am a SU demo and cut a ton of paper. My purple cow is annoying me to no end as I'm not getting straight cuts. Any recommendations are appreciated.

I'm not sure about the one you're talking about but the tabletop one that SU sells is awesome! It's made by Tonic Studios, I'm not sure how many sheets you can cut at once, but I can tell you that you'll get even crisp cuts everytime! It's not one of those trimmers that you'll grow to hate after a few months. It's a little pricey but definitely worth it!!

Tonic Studios also sells the same trimmer with a full base as seen here...

I actually recommend this one if you don't need a portable trimmer. I use both sizes but when I have to cut a lot of 12x12 paper I use the one with the full sized base. HTH!

Here's a demo on the Making Memories Precision Trimmer. It has a magnetic ruler and works well. I have this and like it a lot. Also the blade is self-sharpening and that is a plus not to have to buy blades.

You can use it open for 12 x 12 paper, or fold it to save space on your table.

Michaels carries it, and with a coupon it is about $25 or $30.

I love my Carl Cutter. It has the magnets you're talking about. The only downside is that it is really hard to cut anything less than 1" because the blade mechanism is about 1" wide.

I got my Tonic Guillotine Paper Trimmer (same as SU!'s) about a month ago and I'm loving it!! It's fantastically sharp and I get straight cuts all the time. Also, I can cut just a sliver of paper without worrying about a slanted, bent or distressed edge. It's self sharpening so it'll stay sharp. I've used several different cutters and when I first tried this it felt so good and different. I was so impressed!

Got it at a great price ($27.29) from Scrapbooking Warehouse. $5.99 flat rate shipping.

Here's a bunch of reviews for paper trimmers (including Tonic's) at Craft Critique which you might find useful:

A guillotine would cut paper in bulk a lot faster than a rotary cutter..

Happy shopping!
