Papercrafting Supplies to Canada

Does anyone know of any papercrafting companies that ship to Canada (or within Canada) with reasonable shipping rates?

There are lots of U.S. companies but, apart from a very few, the shipping is too expensive to make ordering worthwhile.

Thanks for any suggestions.

I'm not sure there's much choice-- the USPS rates just went up, sharply for Canada. It now costs me about $7 to mail a little 4 ounce bubble mailer, so I know it can't be cheaper for bigger stuff. :(

Your Next Stamp is based in Ontario. I love the stamps and dies they make, and they also have a nice variety of twine and embellishments.

A lot of companies offer free shipping after a certain dollar amount, even for international customers.

Chic and Savvy Crafters Home Page sends most orders to Canada free. Over $100.00 will always ship to Canada free.
Blessings

Ecstasy Crafts carries almost all Cheery Lynn, Marianne, Joy Crafts dies and folders along with pergamano and paper supplies. Their shipping is very reasonable, reliable and quite fast! I order there all the time.

Try R&R Scrapbooking (R & R SCRAPBOOKING) out of Edmonton. I don't know what shipping would be though as I stop in. She has a small basement room absolutely crammed with scrapbooking and stamping items. If you are looking for something in particular and don't see it on her website, send her an email as she carries some items that are not listed online.

Oh, forgot also about Scrapbookers Paradise (https://www.scrapbookersparadise.com). They have free shipping over $50.00 but for your first order mention this is your first order and you get free shipping over $25.00. Also sign up for their newsletter as they often have specials on shipping as well.

I've ordered & received good service from both ScrappinGreatDeals and Ah! La Carte

Thanks for this Anemone. I haven't heard of these 2 companies before but I'll give them a look! Happy crafting to you and thanks for your help! :-)

Thanks for all these links, ladies! I too have been trying to avoid shopping online from the US since the postal rate hike, but I'm finding it next to impossible to find a good source of heavy white cardstock for card bases in Canada. Any ideas? I've been spoiled since trying PTI's stamper's select and am running out, and would love to try Gina K's pure luxury except that I can't justify the shipping (not Gina's fault at all of course!). I saw someone in a recent forum mention using Staples' 110 lb. cardstock, but I'm not sure if my local Staples store carries it or if it's the weight I'm looking for- I've tried several types of paper there and have always found it lighter weight than I'd like for cards. I'd appreciate any suggestions from anyone who's found something they like!

Staples 110lb cs is definitely not heavy enough for card bases. Weigh-wise, it is about an equivalent of SU!s whisper white. But it has a lot more "tooth" to it - not nearly as smooth. I've found it to be a good layering weight cs, but I would never use it as a card base.

Thanks for the heads up- I knew it had to be too good to be true that I'd be able to find card base-weight cardstock somewhere so close!
I did do a quick search on the Scrap 'n Stamp website (scrapnstamp.ca) and they offer a 100 lb weight cardstock called Studio K Ultra Smooth. At 39 cents a sheet, it's not too cheap but would work out to be less costly than ordering from the States, to be sure. Has anyone ever used this? I'm tempted to order some just to try it, but it would be great to know if anyone here has already used it and how they like it. Sorry if I'm hijacking the thread!

Quite often I use SU colored cardstock for card bases - if it's too dark, I just adhere a piece of white CS (or leftover quarter page labels from my hubby's bussiness) to the inside.
Some time ago I found card kits in dollarama with 5.5 square inch white card bases, that were surprisingly thick.. I used a lot of those

OMG don't fall into the trap thinking that we don't have paper here in CANADA? WE have Trees all around us for goodness sakes!

Check out your specialty stationary stores. IE wedding invite type stores sell individual pages if you want.

Do you have an OFFICE DEPOT by your house? They sell 110 # paper is white/ cream and a few other colours.
On sale it's a good enough deal for me. Perfect for card bases or trims.

Also Check out a COAST Paper . They even have samples for you to fondle before you buy in some stores.

And I seemed to have noticed at one Micheal's store they carried a 110# pack of Cardstock there so you might even score a coupon deal there as well.

Cash and Carry always leaves you more for Candy I always say!!!! :-D
