My mom would like some cubes/cat eyes/dew drops to expand her ink collection. I think she has maybe 4 cruddy pads. I know...I cringe everytime she uses them! Anyway, she is a scrapper and therefore not as interested in dye inks (which I primarily use). She's not interested in the SU! craft inks because of the mess/high dry time factors. If you could pick an ENTIRE collection to get, would you go with the Palette cubes, the Clearsnap chalk cat eyes, or the Brilliance dewdrops?

Well, I'm not much help because I love them all. But if your mom loves fast drying ink go with the cat's eye or pallette. I find the brilliance take a while to dry. They leave a nice shimmery finish, but do dry slowly.
The thing to keep in mind about the chalk inks though is that they dry with a bit of a softer look, so it might not be the effect she wants (at least not to start with). I have one of the regular pigment queues and a chalk ink queues, and I love them both
If I wanted to get the whole line I'd get the brilliance dew drops. The color is amazing (you might call it brilliant!) and they emboss like a dream. I love my dew drops. I have maybe 12 of these... but not all of them yet. Frugalities had them for a fantastic price.
I couldn't stamp without my palette noir- but my palette spots go untouched.
If I wanted a dye ink- I'd have to say without a doubt go for SU classic spots. I can't stamp without them,
I really love the brilliance inks. How odd that they dry slow for some people! When they first came out they were billed as "fast drying,"! I wonder if they seem slow since the hybrids came out? Anyway, I have all of these inks, and use them all for different reasons, so I may not be the best for advice, lol!
I love to "paint" my paper with catseyes. I was just using my Palette Burnt Umber last night for stamping trees so I could watercolor with no bleeding issues. And anytime I want rich color, especially in the metallics, Brilliance is what I reach for...
My mom does mostly straight stamping onto cardstock/papers. No watercoloring, no fancy techniques. Just ink up and stamp. She just needs a good, basic ink, in a range of colors, that in not prone to fading (like traditional dye inks).
Thanks for the suggestions ladies. Keep them coming!

I voted for the fluid chalk inks. I love the way that ink looks for a solid image because it fills in so well, and it's also great for direct to paper techniques like edge distressing. I do like the Brilliance inks too, though, so it was kind of a tough decision.
Oh, you girls are no help at all! There are 3 votes each for the choices in the poll. She's not getting ALL the ink for Christmas!! LOL! I have to make a decision somehow!

VersaMagic Dew Drops Chalk Ink. I love these and have most of them. Got them at Joann's with my 40% off coupons. I like them better than my brilliance and colorbox chalk inks.
I don't really have a favorit ink yet, but pigment & dye inks are 50% this week at Hobby Lobby (if there is one near). -Just in case you want to start picking some up.
I was always a stampin up person until this board. I have tried an array now. It depends what I am doing. I am digging the palette brand at the moment, but for a embossed look and a little raised look, the brilliance line rocks. Chalk is great especially with my clear stamps. It is too hard. My brain is melting. I guess if I did not car about embossing then I would say palette maybe.
My vote is for the Versamagic Dew Drops. They dry much faster then the Brilliance Dew Drops and they have lots and lots of cool colors. You can buy them individually from a variety of places or in 4 packs at Michael's and JoAnn's.

Then I would definitely go with the Palette inks. I have them all and find they work for just about everything.

I adore the Palette Spots. I just started using them and I am in LOVE!!!! I scrap, I stamp! They are great for the multi purpose paper crafter!
I recommend getting the Escher Spots, Morisot, Degas and Van Gogh. These give you a wide range of colors in different shades. If you want to get her all of them, by all means get them ALL!!!!
Well, I think I'm going to go with the Palette spots. Thanks for all the advice!

Definitely palette if she is a direct-ink-to-paper stamper. Brilliance dries to slow and chalk is subtle.;)
I own a ll 3brands and I like them all! It depends on what I am doing for what type of ink I will use though! So it depends on the look you want. Chalk is a softer look and Brilliance is a bolder look.
I voted for Palette's. If she's after fast drying, but lots of great colors, that ink is great. Brilliance dries slow, and the chalk inks I have (Cat's eye Queue or something like that) also dry slowly, but they are awesome inks too. Well, so are the Brilliance for that matter. Wow, tough question!
I voted for "other".... but my vote is actually a tie between other and Brilliance. I think Versamagic Dew Drops are EXCELLENT! Versamagic is an archival chalk ink and I could eat the Java one...there are TONS of colors that I love! I would put Brilliance in the same catagory as Versamagic, but I love the option of some being shimmery! I'd go for these both! They are excellent for doing the edge of paper and antiquing, etc. They don't soak the paper like other inks and they do emboss and give you a nice clean stamped image as long as you don't go crazy with the ink pad as with any other ink!
