Default Lighting

My WONDERFUL husband built me a HUGE scrapbook room but my problem is what kind of lighting do I use? The room is in the basement and there are no windows in the room. I was going to use florescent lighting but someone said that it can sometimes cause a tint. I have a couple of the natural lights right where I work but I need something from the ceiling. It is all wired in all I have to do it pick something out. Does anyone have track lighting? What would you all suggest??

Thanks in advance...

Gwen

Personally, I like track lighting. It's infinitely adjustable, for one thing. You can still get task lighting for your desk area, like a natural light lamp.

Here is a site that might be worth checking out. I think it's like the Ott lights.

You say you already have the "natural" lighting near your desk. So, in order to save enrgy I would choose flourescent fixtures for the ceiling? BUT... be sure to ask at the hardware or lighting store which tubes have the most natural color. Flourescent lights now come in white, yellow, pink and blue tints --- hardly discernible from one another, but important when doing artwork.
PS Look up at the ceiling when you are in the produce section of the grocery store. They put the pink tint over the tomatoes to make them seem riper.
