Default Paper-Piercing Tool

Can someone tell me if the SU! Paper-Piercing Tool comes with a protective cover over the tip? It doesn't show one in the catalog.

Thanks for your help.

I use a cork. It's easy to find because it's big and if you shave one edge slightly it won't roll off your table.

smart thinking! I lost the little cover that the SU one came with years ago.....and I can't even count the amount of times I've stabbed myself when I'm reaching for my paper-piercer  - I seem to be getting better at NOT doing it tho *knocks on wood!* - but this is a great idea!

I went to a pet store and bought a couple of feet of clear aquarium tubing. The kind used for the air hose. It is cheap. I just cut a piece about 1" or so and slide the tool into the tubing. I put it over the tips of my small scissors or sharp tools such as my X-Acto knife that didn't come with a cover.

I use a travel toothbrush holder to hold my paper piercer and Xacto knife. I put a makeup sponge wedge in the bottom, so I can just shove the paper piercer in there and it won't damage the tip or the plastic case. I also put rubber pencil grips on both of these so they're more comfortable when I use them for a long time. I like this case because I can put the lid on and slide it in any bag without poking anything!

Oh, TIP - if you put rubber pencil grips on yours DO NOT put the case right next to where you heat emboss!! I accidently melted mine last week and it's NASTY! LOL
