Oh and the reason I want to know is I want to know what is "safe" to buy for my Cuttlebug. I bought some Sizzlits and found out later they can't do anything bigger than CS. I was under the mistaken impression that any die would cut what you want if you used the CB but I found out that it is based on the die, not the machine! Oops. So let's remedy this situation!

The only ones I know for sure are the ones I personally have, the Cuttlebug dies and the Sizzix originals. Some others probably work too, but I don't *know*.

I don't feel comfortable answering the poll because I only have experience with a few of the options, but I know that sizzix orig, ellison, ellison thick cuts, and sizzix big cutz all cut thru chipboard. I THINK the Big Shot is the actual machine, not the dies. HTH somewhat...

I know the CB do, obviously, and the Sizzix originals, and the Ellison Thick Cuts.

Quickutz, which are not on your poll, do not. Those are the only ones I know of.

It depends on what size chipboard too! I have the heavyweight and the Sizzix originals doesn't even go completely though those!

Look for "steel rule" dies. Make sure they are narrow enough to fit through the 6" feed on your Big Shot/BigKutz or Cuttlebug.

Sizzix Originals are steel rule, as are Ellison Thick Cuts and Sizzix Bigz. "Industrial" dies are also steel rule, but they are too large to fit through personal die cutting machines like the CB and the BS/BK.

Typically, dies referred to as "wafer style" do not cut through anything thicker than card stock.

The EXCEPTION to that, however, would be the Cuttlebug Dies. They are the only "wafer style" die I know of that will cut through lightweight chipboard/med. weight coaster board.

HTH, ;)

I am curious to know if those that mentioned the Sizzix dies have tried them throught the CB layered with chipboard. If so, what was your layering of the die/chip/CB plates? I ask because I ran a piece of felt through last night with the "normal" layering as shown in the CB guide (shown for paper) & I cracked a plate B in half. Now I am concerned about trying the chipboard.

Accucut has some smaller steel rule dies as well, and I have used light-weight chipboard with them. They used to be called zip'e slim dies, but I think they might be phasing those out. Not sure, check accucut.com to see for yourself.

Anyone tried the wizard dies with chipboard? I just bought one and haven't tried it out in my Big Shot yet.
