New Ribbon Organizer at Michaels

1 Attachment(s)
I was at Michaels the other day "just browsing" and stumbled across this ribbon organizer. It's $9.99 but with a coupon it drops down to about $6.00. They stack really nice and the top flips open for each access to change spools.

Oops....forgot to clarify that I have 3 of these organizers stacked.

This is a great one at a great price!

kgormley 07-04-2006 06:47 AM

Does it accomodate different sizes of ribbon spools easily, or only a certain size?

kgormley 07-04-2006 06:48 AM

Oh, another question ... is there any way to mount them on a wall? or would that make opening them a problem?

I have 6 of these units - 2 stacks of 3 on the top shelf of a bookcase that I use for SU sets - they are great - I like most about them is that you pull down the amount of ribbon you want and the rest of the roll stays rolled! I only ended up getting one wth a coupon because I couldn't wait to get all my ribbon set up and actually being able to see what ribbons I have! Each one can hold up to 18 rolls of ribbon depending on the width of the rolls and how you configure the dividers! A definate item to check out when trying to organize!

I might have to go visit Michael's tomorrow.;) I'd go today, but everything's closed. I've been looking for a good ribbon organizer because I have too many ribbons (I know that that's not possible). I'll probably get the Michael's ones until the SU one comes out.

Wow, my cat I would both have a hay day with your beautiful ribbon! You have such a nice varitey. I was waiting to see what new ribbons SU came out with before I went to local stores to buy some. I think I'm headed for shopping spree...

To take a famous quote (which I hate) "One Size fits Most"
It does not accomodate SU's grosgrain, but so far I've been able to fit all my other's in it. I have alot of the American Crafts Element Ribbon and I just keep them in the box, so it's working for the "smaller" spools also.

No, it cannot be mounted on the wall, but they do stack very nice.

These look really useful- I always have the hardest time finding things at Michaels. What department did you find them in?

I found mine on the bottom shelf of the ribbon by the metre section (nearly missed it) and they had another one that has a black zip-up that holds 3 tiers for $30 or so Canadian up on the top shelf...it didn't look half as sturdy as this one.

LOVE my PVC gutter!

I agree! Here's a picture of my gutter.....think I paid $7 for 10 feet and you can cut them to any length and mount them on the wall easily. :p (IF I can figure out how to attatch the photo!)

Now that I look at this one......I was wondering if, by chance, it would be something mobile........can you carry it around? I'd love to have one that I could pack with a few favorites and take with me to play.....Hmmmmmmmmm

I like the gutter idea ... how did you mount that on the wall? Did you use the brackets used when putting up gutters, or just screw it directly to the wall?? We are in the process of putting an addition on our house and when all is done, my stampin' stuff is moving upstairs, so I'm trying to gather all the cool ideas I can for the new space!!

I use the gutter also for my ribbons. My husband cut it and just mounted it with screws directly into the wall. Needless to say, it isn't heavy so it works great!:)

I've been so frustrated with the various ribbon storage that is out there. I had bought one of those SnapWare holders, but the SU grosgrain wouldn't fit in it. My best friend brought me a Ribbon Caddy from a store near Atlanta called Garden Ridge. I've never heard of it before but she says it's like Trees and Trends or Waccamaw. I LOVE the Garden Ridge ribbon caddy because it fits all my ribbon, even the grosgrain, and it's not on dowels, so you don't have to remove all just to remove one spool. It snaps shut with a 1/4 inch opening all around it for the ribbon to thread through. And it's stackable with other GR ribbon caddies.
