it doesn't come with plate C also- so that is an extra cost. No I have no plan on buying a second cuttlebug- eventhough I love mine and it is about 4.5 years old- it still works great.

Interesting! No C plate and the MSRP is $10 more than the older model. Mine works fine too so I also don't need to buy another one.
I'm waiting for one with a bigger mouth:p. I want a 12" one so I can emboss my scrapbook pages! I know Spellbinders has an 8.5" one but that's only half way!
Nevermind! I went and googled it. Weird how it's not on the Cricut/cuttlebug website. I wish that it came in different colors like the Cricut. Or even just a neutral color.
No plans to replace my CB unless it breaks! Those C plates are really hard to find. I got one at Joanns (online) last week at a really great price. (A just-in-case purchase.) I also got new B plates, even though I still have the original ones. Plus I have the extended plates and I'm loving those! Everything purchased at 40-50% off.

Wow! The new one costs more AND it doesn't come with the C-plate? All that for a handle that slides inside to help with storage - so not worth the cost to me.
If my CB ever breaks, my plan is to replace it with a Big Shot.

The Big Shot Pro has a 13" mouth, but Sizzix hasn't made any embossing plates/folders for it. I really hope they're on the horizon. The BSP dies are awesome.

I got my CB from my kids two years ago....the handle lays flat. Are you talking about the crank? I pull my handle up to carry it but it lays flat????
Yes the crank handle stores in the machine to save space (?)
I have no plans to buy a new Cuttlebug now as mine is fine. But if or when it breaks I want to be prepared with my next choice. I am the type of person who always wants a "plan B" in case things go wrong. I think i see a Bigshot in my future when the Cuttlebug breaks

the grand Caliber has a mouth wide enough for the 12" sheets...type in video site for it.

I have a Grand Calibur and the only way you could get a 12" sheet of paper through it is if you folded the paper. It's made for 8.5x11 (or smaller) paper. Even then, the cutting plates would be too short for 12x12, as they are less than 12" long. It's a pity they are just a tad too short to use with 12" border dies & embossing folders unless you want to lay them diagonally (and only the thin ones will work diagonally).
I love my Calibur, but if I could only get one large-format manual machine, I'd get a Big Shot Pro. It has a larger mouth and will cut & emboss anything with any die or embossing folder/plate

I got the new Cuttlebug for Xmas. I wanted it because my old bug broke and I like it because it takes up less space than my Big Shot. The color is mostly cream if that matters to any one. I found it on overstock.com for 59.00 and free shipping I don't care that is dosen't come with a C plate, I have one from the old bug. Now if I can just get some spare time to get it out of the box and play with it. It is suppose to be heavier duty than the one one.
Here is a link posted on the Cuttlebug FAQ last page for a 'C' plate at half price at Joanns.Just had a look( unfortunately they don't ship overseas, or I'd spend a fortune here), they also have the pair of 'B' plates at half price, and the new extended plates are on sale too, and loads of the folders really cheap!
How much larger is it than the Sizzix Texture Boutique? See, I had a Big Shot, and I just didn't have the space for it, so I sold it. I'm looking for something smaller, now, because I miss embossing.
I just saw on another thread maybe in announcements that there is a free shipping code for Joanns too. That could save you some additional money on these plates.
blessings.
I heard the new cuttle bug is lighter and that to me means it may not last as long as the older ones. Also you do need a C plate if you are going to use nestibilities or other dies. If I had to replace my cuttlebug I would get the older model. I do not think cuttle bug was looking into the future or trends, if they were they would have made a cuttle bug 12 inches plus wide with all the plates to match.
