Talking Stickles Alternative

I know there are many, many Stickles worshipers here but for those of us that can't see (or can't afford to) spending $3 - $4 on a tiny bottle of glitter glue, I found a great item that works just as well!

Creative Hands makes ultra fine glitter glue in tubes. I found them in the kid's craft section of Mike's (Creative Hands makes a lot of the foamie products). They come in packs of assorted colors and are $1.99 for a pack of 5. The tip is very tiny and the glitter is very fine - same as the Stickles. I used them on some bookmarks I made today and LOVE the result.

I own a couple of bottles of Stickles and found that this product was just as great and much more cost effective. Especially for those of us who only use the glitter glue for accenting.

PS - I'm not sure but I think the Creative Hands products can also be found in other craft store chains. I just happened to find mine in Michaels.

Thanks for sharing.. I'll have to give it a 2nd look next time I'm in Michaels. I've spent a tiny fortune on Stickles and it would be nice to find a cheaper alternative.

I've made my own glitter glue. I found a pack of sample sized glitter bags in every color of the rainbow in Michael's once, and just poured them into empty squeeze bottles (my DBF is an airbrush artist and has tons of these) added some clear glue, and that's it. Glitter glue in every color.

Default Is it acid free?

Is the product you are talking about acid free? While that's not a big concern for cards, it could be for scrapbooks.

That's a great question. I don't scrapbook so I never think to check and I already threw out the package. Sorry!

But I'm sure that there's plenty of this product in-stock so if anyone wanted to check before purchasing.

I googled the product and while I couldn't find out if it was acid free, I did find a picture.

Aren't the regular stickles only $2? I know the fancy ones are more.

I've only ever seen them for $2.99 and up for a single bottle.

To me, that's a lot of money when you want a variety of colors.

Just passing along a frugal - friendly tips for folks like me who try to save and cut corners whenever possible!
