Ladies,
I'm confused. I got the Big Shot at Christmas. I have the "tabbed" sandwich piece to use with it. I flip the tabs depending on what I'm cutting or embossing.
I am looking for one of those to use for longer dies. I don't know what it is called so I'm having a hard time trying to find it.
I think so.......does this have the tabs on it? Will this enable me to use my embossing folders in the Big Shot? What else will I need to be able to emboss and then cut quickutz dies.
the extended dies---depending on whether it is a strip one or a large box. You need the acrylic plates for either, but for the large box type dies, that is all you need. No tabbed platform needed for either. They do have extended cutting pads and decorative strip cutting pads and spacers...
Not sure why you would need the extended ones for embossing folders though, you should be able to use the multipurpose platform that came with the machine.
Thanks--I have embossing folders and QK dies/borders. I am trying to get the parts of the Big Shot together so I can just use 1 machine. Once I do that then I can sell my Revolution.
If you have the long borders, you need strip spacer and strip cutting pads...I am not real familiar with the QK dies...but the strip thingies are 13" long x 2.5" wide...the spacer is for the thin dies, along with the cutting pads...If the QK dies are thick, then you may not need the spacer...HTH
I wish when I searched on sites that the item would have all the components together, instead of throughout the site.
I know, that doesn't make sense......
Example: Big Shot + regular sized accessories (altogether)
Big Shot + extended accessories (altogether)
Yes, they are on the same page, but scattered throughout that page.
I think I now know what I need.......
Thanks so much-
Ginger
Yeah, I know what you mean...just tell me what I need!
That is one of the things i like about the Stampin' Up catalog...they tell you with each die, what you need and if it comes with the big shot.
Have fun shopping and you will love your Big Shot!

I have the longer cutting plates. You do need the white base one and then a set of the clear cutting plates. NO they don't have tabs, BUT for instance if you are doing cuttlebug folders for embossing you can run THREE thru at the same time. It saves alot of time. It is also great for the longer border diecuts example: sizzix and quikutz. I use it all the time and don't hardly ever use the multi purpose platform with the diff. layers.
hope this helps. I do think michaels and Joanns carry these components and you could use coupon for purchases there.
Thanks for the clarification ladies! At Christmas I did get the thin long plates, but not the thick white one. Now that I've been told there isn't a "tabbed" long plate I'll look for the thick white plate.
I just bought a QK die that is about 3.5" x 11", and it's a BANNER!!! I LOVE it. So I pulled out the BigShot and it took me awhile before I realized I need the extended AND wider platform. Thanks for the link to this. I didn't even know it existed!
