Question Need to stamp on a t-shirt ...

I need to stamp on a t-shirt (white, cotton, has already been washed) and I need to know which inks/markers might work best on it. I only own a few colors of StazOn, Versafine black/brown, Memory Black, Palette Noir and the brown, all the Colorbox cats eyes and a few Queues. I also own three colors of the Making Memories paints and all the SU! reinker colors. I own all the SU! markers and all the Prismacolor markers.

Will any of those work for stamping on a t-shirt? Or do I need to see if I can borrow some supplies for this project from a friend?

What inks have you used most successfully with stamping on shirts?

I need to stamp several names and possibly some floral images on the shirt.

Thanks for any help you can offer!

Chalk inks work GREAT (I have stamped some cloth--in my gallery and my blog).
Versa Fine will probably work (it is pigment, right?)
SU! classic-NO SU! Craft--YES

StazOn is not made for fabric and the pad says not to use it on fabric.

This is what I would do--get a rag (or old t-shirt) and try some stuff out. HEAT SET IT. (iron or dryer--each as hot as the fabric will tolerate) then wash it. See what happens.

You may just have the best looking dust rags in town. ;)

I just bought some tubes of fabric paint for 99cents each and some foam brushes and brushed the paint unto the stamps. It was the puffy paint, but it went on nice with the stamps and did not puff.

I would use fabric paint. I've found it on the aisle with the puffy paints, slick writers, T-shirts, etc that you can embellish. They have a number of colors and they are made for fabric. I made a Tshirt using them and have never had a problem with it peeling or anything. Its been through the wash many times. I would paint it onto your stamps and then clean them off when done.

Isn't there a liquid medium that when mixed with reinkers (I think) turns it into a fabric paint? Seems my up-up line mentioned this to me years ago - LOL, it has been on my "one of these days" to-do list ever since...

I am going to stamp on a silk scarf so I did a test at home. I stamped with Stazon, with SU Classic and SU Craft inks. The colors all went on well, though the Stazon colors bled just a bit, leaving the image little less crisp. The Classic inks bled a lot. The Craft inks did not bleed at all and stayed put.

After I stamped, I heat set with my embossing gun and put it in the washing machine. Although the scarves won't be washed, I wanted to test for water damage. The classic inks washed out. The Stazon's stayed put and the Craft inks stayed put. l will use Craft inks for my project and heat set the colors as they stayed crisper than the stazon. This was especially evident with the Wild About You set when the stazon bled a bit into the eyes and the lions mane, which made it less attractive to me.
