I'm looking for a good way to store paper does anyone have favortite ways to store paper and scrap paper :confused:

Mine are thrown all over the place. Just haven't had the time to organize. But when I do I like the way a girlfriend of mine has hers. She has hanging file folders in a crate and she used a samll window punch and punched out the color of the paper and taped that to the hanging file tab.

That's one way. But I have seen some nice cubicles and storage systems but they all have been pretty costly. I would love some cheap storage ideas.

I've tried the Cropper Hopper vertical storage and found them to be too flimsy, unless you have the perfect amount for an enclosed shelf which I don't. I also tried the wire cubes with zip ties to make shelves and the edges of my paper would get messed up. I currently have a rolling cart with the 12x12 containers and I think that's a pain too.

My scraps are in 12x12 plastic bags sorted by color. I keep the bags in a CTMH tote but more times than not I forget to use them. I think I need something more visible.

Anyone with some storage ideas out there?

I have the 12x12 storage cubes and also some 12x12 hanging folder cubes and I love them! I used to keep my scraps in 12x12 baggies and then I had a basket that the bags were stored in but I wasn't happy with that. It was "too much work" to get to and I wasn't using it as quickly as I liked. Now I have my SU scraps three colors to a folder and in one of those milk crate style hanging folder cubes that I got at WM for labout $3. All other scraps are in Sterilite drawers. One for large scraps (that could be a card base), one for smaller scraps, and one for patterned paper. So far my system is working well for me.

My 8 1/2 x 11 paper is also in hanging files in 3 crates. I put an envelope in each file marked with the color name for any scraps. Works well for me. I also have a punched shape next to the color name on the file so I can readily see the color.

I am slowly buying the target cubes with the 4 shelves to put my 12 x 12 papers, and have an iris cart with drawers for other 12 x 12 paper. I like both the hanging files for the smaller and the other two for the 12 x 12s. I have used all these systems for quite a while and they really work for me.

Since I don't use 12x12, I keep my 8 1/2 x 11 in magazine holders. They stand on end and I can see all the colors without having to code the holders.

Scraps are another story, one I've yet to "write" or organize. Right now they are in three or four clear boxes originally used to store granola clusters from Costco.
They'd still be full of granola but dh ate it all.

I use my regular office filing cabinet for my 8 1/2 x 11.
I bought the 12x12 filing cube at Target and the hanging 12x12 file folders for my DS papers and 12x12.

I'm stalking this for paper storage... but I might change my mind, however they would be good if you had to store your stuff in a damp place!

I try to store my scraps in front of my uncut paper so I look at them first... so far this is working until the pieces get really small!

I have two of those Iris carts and have a container for each color:
pinks/corals
reds
oranges
yellows
greens
blues
purples
grays
whites
creams
blacks
browns

I put my PP in the container that has that as a predominate color. I also sometimes have a little bit of something left so I punch shapes out or have leftoves when I'm making a ton of cards. I put those in there too in a ziplock baggie so they are easy to grab.

My scraps are stored in 8 1/2 x 11 hanging file folders in a cube I bought at Target. I have them sorted by color--all shades of green in one folder, etc.

My 12x12 is stored in a hanging file system too and it works great for me. In my gallery there are pictures of my scrap room and it shows my 12x12 hanging file cart.

My 8 1/2 x 11 full sheets are stored in magazine holders--like the paper holders SU sells. I don't have a picture of this in my gallery because when I organized my scrap/stamp room I didn't have the paper holders yet for 8 1/2 x 11.

All my 12x12 bg paper are filed according to design/print/theme, then by color. For example, stripes, floral, checkered, distressed, christmas, baby, etc. Then my cardstock are just filed according to color. You can see it here:

As for scrap paper, any paper or cs that's smaller than 8 1/2 x 11, goes to drawers categorized by color. So when I need a certain color of bg paper or cardstock, especially small ones, I just pull out the color drawer I need and search there. You can see it here:

I have this similar cart from Target tucked under one of my counters.

This cart is genius. I hope they get them instock soon. Does anyone know the price? It would be great if we could use a 40% off coupon too.

How sturdy is it? This looks like a good one too. How wide is the space from shelf to shelf? Are the shelves adjustable?

All the measurements are from the Target website. 29.25Hx30Wx13.25D" The shelves are adjustable (about two inch increments) and the top two are more like drawers/bins that slide totally out. It's pretty sturdy but you're not going to want to over load it or move it a lot over carpet.

My favorite part is that it comes with a dust cover that also reduces fading your paper :)

Oooh I could handle something like that!!! My storage system.... for lack of better words.. STINKS!!!

This cart would be great for business stuff. Hold all my order forms, catties, brocures, etc. I think I might need that!

If you're going to put a box of catties on it, I suggest under the hanging part... keep them low and you will be fine.

That's where I was thinking they would go nicely. I wouldn't put it on top. That's just asking for trouble. ;)

Do the wheels lock? My floors are uneven and things roll....without help... ;)

they sure do! Oh, and it's very easy to assemble. Just some screws.

So, in that gray bin, I placed file folders that I cut down tosize...I have ALL my scraps in there...I labeled my file folders by color group (ie: reds, purples, yellows & oranges, blues, greens, a seperate folder for in colors and neutrals). This system works well for me. It also encourages me to look in there when I need a color rather than going straight for the 8 1/2 x 11 cardstock. Since this picture was taken I've updated my stamp space and now also have a small bookshelf with magazine boxes (IKEA 5 for about $2.50) which store cardstock that will not fit in my paper holder...I no longer use that plastic bin showed in the picture since I have a whole other drawer (exactly like the gray one) that I store my designer paper (seperated into cut down file folders also). Hope this helps...this system works well for me since I don't have any wall space, or anything like that...being that my stamp room is VERY open! Happy Stampin! God Bless!

Love the slotted shelving for 12x12, you posted that it was from Joann's...wow didn't think they would have it, going to look.

How are you keeping the 12x12 colors separated in those cubicals? Are there only the dividers between the colors?
