I'm just now hearing about this new tool for the first time. Sounds like a helpful gadget, but it's very pricey! I would think if the magnets are a must have accessory, they should be included! Going to have to wait and see if this tool really justifies the cost. Since they are out of stock, I couldn't order even if I wanted to - lol!

I know, you have to join Iliana's mailing list and check her Facebook page frequently to get one. You don't have to have the magnets, just butt your media into the corner. Mine is worth every cent paid. She hand makes each one, and the quality is exceptional. I would have never guessed mine was handmade, if I didn't know it was. Magnets are cheap and a single person handmaking from costly supplies has to make a profit, so I didn't mind the price. I've paid just about as much for tools I've hardly used. Misti lives on my desk and I use it daily. I know you would love the Misti, and hope you're able to get one.

I feel the same way.

As for the magnets, I recently bought some clear stamps that are super sticky and when you stamp the stamp sticks to the paper without the magnets so for me the magnets are a must have.

Another thought on the magnets is that so many of us all ready use these magnets (great for picking up brads, pins, holding curled paper down) that it was a savings for me not to buy. I have too many duplicate tools that came a set with a product so no dups is plus.

I love mine! Making Christmas cards ten at a time and stamping with this tool makes it so easy! I missed inking some places, and all I had to do is add more ink and stamp it in the same place again! It's so nice. It is worth every penny paid for it! I did get the magnet and it really helps to keep the paper in place. I also use the grid paper. It helps to line things up nicely! Great tool, and I keep it very handy! I'm really happy with mine and glad I got one. It took several tries to order one, but finally scored one! My DH just wonders why I couldn't have invented it!! I've shown it to my friends, and even my non-stamping friends think this is a cool tool!

After stalking the "shop" page every time a new batch was posted for sale and missing it every single time, I finally managed to order one tonight! I don't know how soon I'll be able to use it, since all of my other crafting stuff is packed up, but I can rest easy now that I know it will be in my arsenal soon There were only five left when I ordered, so now there are only four (unless someone bought them while I was typing this, lol)...

You're so very welcome. Happy Belated Birthday! I had such a hard time getting mine. I wanted to let members know when I was aware of a sale, so those wanting one wouldn't miss out. They just fly! Sold out now, 51 sold in 26-minutes.

Congrats to all who were able to get a Misti.

Do I remember her saying you could just use a baby wipe on the plastic? I'm not sure, and I watched smatterings of only some of the videos. I feel like I must, because it never entered my mind to even order the cleaner. I think I had put it out of my head if one can use baby wipes.
Does anyone else know?
Thanks so much.

This what I found on Iliana's website. The below was written by her. Hope this helps.

Products I have personally used on MISTI:
Alcohol free wipes
Ranger Water-Based Stamp Cleaner
Ranger Clear Stamp Cleaner
Inkssentials Cleans It
Stampin’ Mist Stamp Cleaner
Staz-On All Purpose Cleaner
DO NOT USE Inkssentials Solvent Cleaner. This cleaner will damage MISTI.

So... is there any reason to really buy the cleaner, if one can use baby wipes? Are there any advantages?

BTW, I'm really curious if anyone was able to put on the report cover hinge that I talked about? I'd love to know if you found that as useful as I have?

OMG, it works like a charm! I purchased the cleaner, but had to use the Stazon cleaner to remove some ink that it didn't work on. I'm still evaluating if it offers protection to make cleaning easy. So far so good, it still looks brand new since I used it, and I'm just using baby wipes.

mysweetpetunia.com will get you to the web site of the inventor, a cardmaker just like the rest of us, Iliana Since she is in the process of negotiating with a manufacturer, the price may change from what you see above.

It's a treasure you won't want to be without, no matter the price, unless your cardmaking is a casual pursuit you don't plan to stick with over the long haul.

So far, I've found two magnets are enough. They hold your cardstock in place when you've stamped and then lift the stamp away.

The magnets are so strong they will leap atop each other from quite a distance, so be really careful or you'll end up with two you can't separate. Ask me how I know.

Bahb: slide the magnets apart - you may have to be forceful but they should separate.

It's good to have extra magnets, because they will crack!

Looks great but the price and the hoops that must be jumped through to get one are a turn off. Maybe I'll try to purchase one after the holidays when my craft budget will be more generous.

Girl Friday-

The price might seem high but this is a handmade product with quality parts. Illiana has a manufacturer she is working with so should soon have more units available. Check her Facebook/blog sites - My Sweet Petunia. I REALLY like mine if just for the fact that I can re-stamp an image since I seem to get splotchy images when trying to stamp a solid image.

I applaud her for working hard to get her well made, useful craft product produced. She is a busy person - wife, mother, home school teacher and part-time worker.

I didn't take the hoop jumping comment as a dig against Ms Myska. It's a fact that the units are very, very difficult to buy. It's also a fact that, in a hobby filled with expensive toys, the MYSTI is one of them.

I look forward to the debut of the manufactured MYSTIs because I don't have the time or inclination to sit by my computer trying to buy a hand-made one under the current selling constraints. I realize there's a risk that the manufactured ones will be different than the hand-made ones, but I'm sure Ms Myska will hold the company to her high standards.

I applaud her for working hard to get her well made, useful craft product produced. She is a busy person - wife, mother, home school teacher and part-time worker.
I absolutely agree, and I really like supporting startup businesses. I have loved playing with mine this week. I have more confidence building scenes on cards, now that I can restamp the blotchy parts! Such an awesome product!

Just an FYI from my personal experience:

I had trouble picking up the magnets from the base (with the foam removed because I was using a cling foam stamp). They were really stuck! I slid them, 1 at a time, to the hinge area and was able to pick them up. As has been said many times, the magnets are STRONG! Also, I ordered the magnets when the ordered my MISTI because I checked my local Home Depot (a location Iliana mentioned) and they didn't carry the ones she recommended.

My MISTI came last week. Friday I had time to use it. I stamp a lot, but have never mastered the stamp a jig or other devices of that type. MISTI takes care of placing the stamp right where I want it. If there is a bit of ink that is to light - re stamping is so easy! Want to mix the color on the sentiment - so easy. I am in love. Is it worth the money? Oh yes it is!

I get annoyed that we pay so much for SU stamps but still have to put the things together ourselves !!! Need to have the image on the back of the stamp but it is so hard to get it positioned correctly. Very frustrating and also the problem of them not sticking to the acrylic blocks !!!!!

MISTI lives up to its name...Most Incredible Stamp Tool Invented! It's definitely my new favorite!

I had it with me at a weekend crop recently....hardly could get my own work done because so many wanted to see it.
