Does anyone know what the shipping cost is to Canada? I would love to order one but will wait a bit until our dollar goes up. Hopefully it won't be too long. Now that I decided I am going to get one I don't want to wait.

I gave a MISTI to my BFF for Christmas. I ordered one for myself today. Wow! I didn't know before I ordered, that Illyana had inventory on hand. How lucky am I that hopefully I'll have it soon!?

Charlene what assurances do you have that the currency conversion rate will be more favorable rather than less favorable in the future ?
Considering the US National Debt you may be waiting a lo-o-o-ong time

International orders going first class she is adding $3.00 for insurance unless you tall her not to. You could email Iliana and get a quote.

I was reading up last night on the expected forcast for CDN currency and it is not looking good. You are right Barbara Jay, maybe its better to get it now before it gets worse. I wish my husbands' parents were going to stay in AZ a bit longer so I could ship it to them. They are leaving in a couple days to come back home.

Talk about awesome customer service... my MISTI arrived yesterday and one of the magnets was missing from my order. I sent Iliana an email, and in less than one hour my account had already been credited!

I was showing a friend my MISTI today, I did a little demo and then we sat and chatted. After a few minutes she started to laugh, I asked what was so funny.....she pointed out that I was patting MISTI.......just wait until she owns a MISTI.

Okay, so I finally have enough money to buy a MISTI. Yeah!

How many magnets should I buy? Is one enough? Two?

I thought maybe some of you ladies out there who already have a MISTI could advise a newbie like me : )

Thanks in advance!

I just received my MISTI in the mail today (hooray!), and I only ordered one magnet with it. I played around with it a bit today and I'm wishing I'd gotten at least 2, perhaps even 3 would be better, but I can tell that 1 will not be enough for me.

I have 4 magnets but I only use one magnet, the card will usually move when you lift the lid up, but you just push it back into the corner (or where ever you originally placed the card on the grid). I find it is quick and easy with just one. The other 3 magnets are bonded together for life in the bottom drawer.

The order for my sweet friend has already shipped. The best thing is Miss Illiana shipped it directly to my friend in another state!

I agree that if you're butting the card in the corner one is fine, however if you're doing any of the other things you can do with MISTI where you're not using the corner then having those extra magnets is a must. Of course you could also use washi tape to keep things in place too.

Yes - when your card is in the corner, one or none is fine.

However, when you're stamping in the middle of the MISTI aligning something, like here, you really need multiples - or they make it easier. I got a few more.

I would say 3 is a minimum. I usually use 4. I bought mine at Home D. Six 1/2 in. Ones for $3.98.

Thanks for all the great magnet feedback. I think I'm going to order four. I can always use them for fridge magnets, if I don't need them : )

If they get stuck together, just slide them apart. You definitely can't pull them apart. Mine get stuck together all the time.

By the way, I have 4.

I bought 2 and threw one out. I don't have the strength in my hands to slide them apart and you are correct you can't pull them apart . Mine got stuck together and it took a lot of force to push them on the measuring rail of the MISTI to separate them . I also didn't want them jumping toward each other and breaking as Joan B had happen.
I have never seen magnets with force like these

Lydia, love your demo! I have never been a fan of eekat, or ikat, however you say it, but that pattern is really cool and stamping it in different colors makes it look so pretty!
I have had my MISTI since Dec and I love it for just the reason you showed, reinking a misstamped image. My only wish is that my MISTI had the pink grid on the lid...mine is black Oh well she still works like a dream!!

I found that blue painters tape holds the cardstock on the hard back of the MISTI for stamping with a red rubber stamp or it sticks to the foam insert if I am using a clear stamp.
I kept one magnet if I absolutely must use it .

I just stamped a background stamp and after a second inking it is perfect!
Before the MISTI I was never able to get perfectly stamped background images from clear photopolymer stamps

Oh Lydia, I just love your iKAT card and instructional video. I, too, must get in the habit of cleaning up as I go. I'm always getting ink where I don't want it. I haven't been taping my quilters template down, and I can see taping is a real time saver. I can't wait to try it!

Default magnets

I failed to order magnets when I ordered misti.
I ordered from the net, 3/4" x 1/16" strong, I think they are M52. I got 4, they were separated by white plastic rings. I could only get one apart, without risk of pinched fingers. I cannot separate the other 3, just put them away. Be careful!!!!!!

Separating the magnets can be tricky but it can be done very well by sliding them against a firm edge such as your kitchen counter. I have arthritis and carpal tunnel and was having a terrible time til my husband told me to try sliding them. Turn them on their side and hold them against the edge and push down, works like a dream!

Ahhh you're so sweet!

It took me a while to develop the cleaning habit but I'm totally in the groove now!

Here's another video for you - for adding selective detail back to no-line coloring images.

I laughed when I saw Susie's comment because I flipped back up because I knew I read you were from Austin. My oldest daughter lives there and loves it. She and her son were going to come visit this weekend but the weather turned too chancy. Loved your video. Thanks.

That's awesome - she should come stamp with me!

My husband just walked out and found our cars are covered with ice. Yuck.

Guess what ELSE you can do with the MISTI???

This was a fun discovery - maybe you already know this but I squealed when I thought of it:

My MISTI discovery.

Lydia, I love my Brother label machine too! We basically have the same machine, just a different model. Mine is the D600 color screen model, but yours does everything the 600 does. I even made my own custom "made by" labels for the back of my cards, and I've labeled both ends of the Copic Caio markers I have with the color number. My favorite labels are black print on white, black on clear, and white on clear. I used both the black & white on clear to label the markers, color depending on how dark the marker was. Thank goodness the majority of my markers are sketches!😊 I do the same thing with my goto embossing powders, it's an ingenious idea. I went one step farther and put silicone moisture absorbers in all the containers with the embossing powder.

Getting back to our beloved MISTI, I didn't see anything about the MISTI on the link you gave, but enjoyed the link anyway! I could go on and on about our label maker!😄😄😄

If you scroll down towards the bottom you'll see the MISTI video. Great video and idea, btw!

It took me two days, but I finally read all 22 pages of comments. My son has an Amazon Prime account and owes me money, so does anyone know the number for these same magnets (or a link) and for the Quilters Templates? I know I could scan all these pages again, but I really need to do some work around the house that I've neglected while reading these posts and watching the videos. Thanks for enabling??????
