I was order # 3402

I suspect the tracking number will be issued when the label is printed or it gets to the Post Office.

At least I know it is in a box with my name on it !

Default Happy Accident

I wanted to use white ink and I knew MISTI would let me get a good impression by stamping it a few times. As always, I reinked my white pad before using it and when I stamped, I pressed down to hard and had way to much ink so the image wasn't crisp plus the white wasn't quite the right color. That led me to experiment and WOW I got a great shadow effect.

It's easy to duplicate - just make sure you have a lot of ink on the first color and press down hard; dry before you add the second color and don't press so hard so the image is crisp. I had to stamp the black about 4 times to get decent coverage. Note that the Dream stamp in the pic is distressed so the image is supposed to have places where the white shows through.

MISTI rocks!

Does anyone know the state where Iliana lives ?
She is shipping from her home and if she lives on the East coast we may be in for a delay in getting our MISTI's. That area is expecting more snow and bad weather which will delay air flights and other transportation .
Add to that there is no mail service on Monday . It is a National Holiday -Presidents Day

No, it's packed and ready to go to post office. Assume that won't happen until Tuesday since Monday is a federal holiday.

Default HUGE KUDOS to ILIANA!!!!

Not only is the MISTI the absolute BEST tool I have purchased, Iliana is the BEST when it comes to taking care of her customers. She works so hard to get this amazing tool in everyone's hands as soon as possible. She recently resolved something for me and she was extremely professional.

Keep spreading the word.....I definitely want to support Iliana however I can....I truly believe that this tool is one that every stamper should have for their own benefit. It's absolutely worth the price and you'll make your money back in no time from all the savings of supplies and possibly even more important....relief from all the frustration of mis-stamping! LOL!!

Just like a die cutting machine is essential to owning dies, the MISTI is essential (in my opinion) to owning stamps!!

I just wanted to chime in and say that I absolutely love my MISTI. I mainly bought it to help me stamp with arthritis pain, which it does, but I pretty much can't stamp without it even if I'm not having any pain. MISTI makes my stamping go so quick and easy, especially for repeating patterns and perfect placement. I never thought I would love it so much, I am SO glad I bought one. I think I was in the last group of folks to get the first MISTI with the laser etching. It is really the best tool ever!!!!

I jumped on the MISTI bandwagon right before Christmas and so have been using my fabulous tool since early January! And I so love it! I'm unmounting wood stamps to play with again because I could never line them up correctly and even clear stamps confounded me in trying to be precise. Now my MISTI is precise and oh what a joy! Thanks Iliana for sharing your incredible creativity with the rest of us stampers!

Iliana just posted on her Facebook page: "Just learned that Windex will crack the acrylic. NO WINDEX please!"

I bought the cleaner but could see me doing something like this. Wonder what is in Windex that could crack the acrylic....hhmmm

I just found out there's a ton of posts warning not to use windex on acrylic. Here's one I found.

Quote: I read somewhere that this is a Huge mistake because the chemicals in the Windex could cause the acrylic to crack and eventually fail.

Answer: It is my understanding, that Windex and other chemical cleaners can craze not crack the acrylic. Crazing ruins the clarity of the acrylic...it may even turn it yellow.

I'm taking Windex out of my craftroom! Thanks for the warning!

there are a number of threads about cleaning stamp blocks and the warnings are the same for all acrylic. Harsh cleaners (ammonia, StazOn cleaner, alcohol, Formula 409, gasoline, denatured alcohol, or acetone will cause the acrylic to craze with minute cracks. I didn't know this and I used to clean my blocks with StazOn cleaner and they started to get spider cracks and eventually they broke into tiny pieces.

I'd rather some ink on my cover than ruin my wonder MISTI. The best thing to do is wipe off the ink right away.

How are you using these quilter's templates, may I ask? I just laminated one sheet of the graph paper pad and use that, but I'm wondering if the quilter's template offers some other purposes?

The advantage is you can see through it, so you can place it over your project, place your stamp and test it out before actually inking your project.

Maureen Wong is doing some great videos showing how she's using the MISTI. Here's one where she shows one of the ways she uses the quilter's template.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wg4ArPfIyqc (go to about 18 min)

I haven't yet, but plan to cut some of mine to the various shapes (hexagon, pentagon, octagon). I picked up some artist tape (really skinny, black, single sided sticky) that I hope to use to create the 'spokes' since marks aren't permanent on the quilter's template. I like how it's a heavier plastic and hope it serves for a while.

I bought the recommended cleaner when I bought the MISTI. And, I have a dedicated cloth for cleaning the MISTI.

Actually, I don't have any Windex in my house....I've always used a mixture of vinegar and water to clean glass.

Additionally, I just bought that quilter's template from Joann's. If you try to look for it from their website, it might state that it's not available in your local store (as mine did). However, I found it in the store easily. All quilters stuff is 40% so I was about to purchase a pack for just over $4.

If you have the additional 20% coupon for President's Day, you can save even more.

Was it plain or did it have a grid on it?

They are a nice weight with grids that match Iliana's template. I'll still be using my graph pads purchased from Iliana, love them. I plan on using the templates for circular stamping. I don't have the link at hand. I'm in the mist of discharge planning at the hospital, so answering while I have a minute. The links to the videos showing circular stamping are in previous posts on this thread. I'm sure I'll find uses for the extra sheets. I am going to Krylon one to use as a sticky mat on the MISTI, making sure I Krylon the side unaffected by cleaning. I like the 1/4 inch grids much better than my old Cricut mat.

Has anyone used Amuse ink with their Misti? I am finding the ink too sticky and lifting the cardstock, despite the magnets, so that a second pass is "off." Anyone else?

Did you see the comment by Jerry "On behalf of USPS Marketing we thank you for shipping with us " LOL
Little did she know when she designed a better way to stamp that her home would turn into a manufacturing/ distribution center

Yes, saw that yesterday. To bad PO won't pick up for her. She stated somewhere in the past her town is so small they deliver mail in their personal cars. She also made the comment yesterday she doesn't know where her PO is going to put them all it is so small.

It's a package of 6 sheets - 4 grid, 2 plain. Same exact thing as on Amazon. The package is a little different looking but it's the same thing.

Yes, Tack n Peel is for plain, bare, "necked" rubber only. I love it on my individual mounts, but I'd never use it on my MISTI if (when? LoL) I get one.

WooHoo my MISTI arrived today. The postage to Australia was worth every cent. The MISTI and cleaner, pad and the magnet were all well packed - best international packaging I have ever had.

I just used MISTI on my worst silhouette stamp - it took 3 inkings.....perfect!! I couldn't be happier.
