I think mine (one of the hand-made, etched ones - hooray!) is a "right-hand" model, but I've used it in every position possible, depending on what I'm stamping, so I agree that it doesn't matter at all...

bbrachfe,

I'm left-handed as well, but am usually using my Misti as any right-hander would, with absolutely no issues. At times I have wanted to have 2 stamps mounted at once, and then flip it over and back as both "left-handed" and "right-handed". It's very easy to use both ways!

This tool has COMPLETELY changed my stamping mojo! Even the Made By stamping on the back of the card looks better now! And I'm slowly pulling out those old multi-layer stamps that were harder to line up (esp Kitchen Sink). They're a breeze now.

This is what happens when your mail carrier does not place your package on your porch and decides to lean it against the closed garage door. Your son opens the garage, the package falls behind the car, and your son backs out over it. Ugh. Believe it or not, my Misti is in one piece, as well as the bottle of cleaner.

Oh my KristaTracy!

Thank goodness Iliana packs those MISTIs really really well. Glad to hear it was safe.

I stamped my first image with my MISTI today. It was so great to be able to reink the areas that didn't stamp as clearly as needed on the first try. I am going to LOVE this new tool.

Thanks for coming up with this one!

I cannot figure out how to adhere the paper down (you can't use the magnets if you're stamping the whole sheet). I'm thinking of trying stamping half of a 8-1/2x5-1/2 piece and then flipping it around and stamping again. Maybe I should place the stamp on the top of the MISTI and place the paper on the table (hope this makes sense). Thanks for reading all this.

I got my MISTI earlier this week but wasn't able to play with it until last night. Love it! Love it LOTS!

What I did to stamp an entire card front was to use a very small piece of washi tape in one corner of the cardstock to hold it in place. I was using a script stamp, so I placed the tape in a spot where I knew the stamp would not be touching the cardstock.

In the beginning when she was trying to get her product out there but only for a short time. Based on her postings on Facebook I would not look for any discounts or coupon codes as long as demand is high.

I'm a stamper on a pretty tight budget and the 'this seems expensive' concern with the MISTI is one that I just don't get. If it were $100, maybe. But given the number of cards I'm not going to need to recycle and start over, I see this as a way to increase my joy in stamping and save me a ton of time, money and frustration.

I look around my stamp space and see a lot of tools with less utility that add up to an awful lot more in cost. I'm lookin' at you, punches lined up in your rack smilin' back at me ...

(not meaning to enable anyone also on a budget, but the MISTI isn't overpriced, imho.)

Everyone is different What seems cheap to you and me may be super expensive to someone else. For some people $50 is a week's worth of groceries or a months supply of a needed medication. I don't think it's necessary to make anyone who thinks the MISTI is too expensive feel bad or judge them.

I plan to purchase one eventually but right now I think the wait times are just too much so I am holding off until she can get things to a point where she has inventory in stock instead of it being a two month wait.

Good grief. People have posted about how pricey the MISTI is, but a post that thinks it's a reasonable price is one that is at risk for making people feel badly or judged? People can feel how they want to feel, and can spend or not spend whatever they want with no judgement on my part.

I stamp the entire background on the grid paper and leave the stamp attached to the MISTI, then I place a small amount of tape runner on the back of the cardstock I am stamping on and place it in the stamped image on the grid paper (this also lets me decide which part of the stamped image I want on my cardstock) and stamp the image. You do have to remove the stamped cardstock carefully but it's worked great for me.

You didn't say you thought the MISTI was a reasonable price, you said you didn't understand why anyone would think it's expensive. I can see how that could make people feel bad.

However, if I misunderstood your post please accept my profuse apologies.

I won't any time soon. However, I might have a few MISFIT MISTIs coming soon. Those are like the jeans where the seam is crooked. I have two that the base grid is upside down. Those will be discounted.

Everyone uses the site differently. Subbing by posting subbing is just fine

Just a reminder here to be nice. It's okay to disagree. It's not okay to make the disagreement derail the thread.

Back to the topic.

Now I understand what Joan was saying about getting a second one - I'm starting to feel that crazy impulse!

And as far as stamping a full quarter sheet with a background stamp - what I do is adhere a post-it note to the back of the cardstock with a bit sticking out. Then I plop the magnet onto the post-it note and you can stamp the whole card front.

OK, I have read pages and pages of comments! I know I need the MISTI, but where do I order one? I can't seem to find out if Iliana has a link to order from or a blog or what.
Can someone put me out of my misery and tell me where to order? Please...

I fully understand the desire to have a second one. The thought has crossed my mind.

With regards to the pricing, I am new to stamping. The month I joined SCS was my very first month haphazardly buying items to start a stamp collection. I intentionally held off from purchasing more than a basic sized acrylic blocks because I knew I wanted to purchase a MISTI. I had sat down and calculated the cost of a full set of full sized and smaller blocks.

Honestly, unless you paid absolutely nothing for acrylic blocks OR use all wood mounted stamps, when you factor in the cost of buying either individually or sets of mixed blocks, you will find that you have to spend at least 40-60% of the price of a MISTI for the blocks anyway. I bought blocks off of eBay and used coupons at all of the big box stores and STILL have (at retail prices) spent at least $40 for acrylic blocks necessary to stamping. Just something that you have to consider.

Pat, I see the links have been posted for you. I think Iliana should add her blog addie to her profile so it shows up on her posts. Pretty sure this is allowed as I see others have done it. Don't know if she can change her online screen name. She posted earlier in this thread she wanted to be MISTI Queen.

(covering my eyes)

ALTHOUGH - this has made me want to unmount all my wheels - and use them in the MISTI. I almost sold them all at my garage sale and now I'm glad I didn't!

Thank You Annecards for the links! I ordered and now we will see how long it takes to get it. It looks like it might be the first week of March before it will ship! Can't wait!

Oh good idea, Lydia about the wheels. I did unmount one of mine and cut it up into individual stamps. It was the baby onsie wheel. So now I can just line them up and put them back together on the MISTI lid.

You're very welcome Pat.
OMG Lydia I managed to hold onto my wheels too. I unmounted a few, but never bothered with the rest. Now I'll have to dig them out!! They'll work perfectly on the MISTIE! Thanks!

I ordered today.
My question for those of you that already have the Misti
When say a background stamp doesn't quite ink everything, do you reink the whole stamp or just try to,reink the spots not quite covered?
