I love, love, love this die but most of the time I have the hardest time getting a clean cut with it. Is there a trick?

I've tried a shim (double layer of printer paper) underneath the mats and cutting through double layer of cardstock; sometimes one of these works and sometimes not.

Anybody else having issues? Thanks!

What machine are you using? I know in my Cuttlebug I have to use very flat, newish plates to get a clean cut with detailed dies. If they're curved at all, no matter how many shims, it won't cut cleanly.

I spot-shim with tape. In any area that doesn't cut through, I put tape on the back of the die until it cuts through. It's sort of a trial and error system, but once it works you can just leave the tape on the die for next time.

wax paper helps Put it next to die and then paper. I did have to send a large frame die back.
