Default Punches and Scalloped Edges

Ok I just read through many of the posts on this topic and I am still really confused! I own the slit punch and I totally understand how to make the scalloped edge with this punch. HOWEVER, I also have the ticket corner punch-will this also maked scalloped edges? I was reading Beate's tutorial on her blog and my strip of paper looks like a row of "u"''s--scooping up. Does that even make sense? I think I am really having a dumb moment. Is this the punch Beate was using? She said it was a corner punch? Is that the same thing? HELP!!I have been sitting looking at this computer for way too long tonight!

she used the corner rounder without the guard on it (the plastic peice that keeps the corner in the right position to round it).

My corner rounder (is SU and I bought it a long time ago) does not have a guard to take off? You just slide the corner in and punch-nothing comes off.

then if you put the paper in so that it is flat edged against the metal posts (where the corner would usually go) then you can punch a U shape....you move the punch over to line up the corners and you can do a scallop on the edge of pretty much anything...

Ok-I just went and looked at it again-you can not slide that much paper in-it just allows a corner to slide in. I don't know if that makes sense. Did SU change the corner punch-I think I may be having a blonde moment (but I am not blonde!!)

okay..I"ll try to describe this...

take the flat end of your paper and lay it like this

-----------------------------------------------------------
O O

the line is the paper and the dots are the posts.....then when you punch it will be a U shape...clear as mud??

OK-I am probably driving you crazy-with my corner rounder you can't get the paper in that way-I am going to look in my old catalogs and see if it changed.I understand what you are saying but there is no way to get the paper in my punch that way. I can get it to work with the slit punch though. It was just really bothering me that I couldn't get the other punch to work. Amy R has a tutorial on her blog-but she said she was using the ticket corner punch? I promise I won't bug you anymore!!

you aren't driving me nuts....yet

I have a guard on my corner rounder that comes off....it's like a collar that snaps around the entire bottom of my punch to line up the paper...does yours have that on it?

You are right ... she used the ticket corner...and got a reverse scallop....you can use the same tech that she shows only using the corner rounder with the guard......

OK I think I finally got it! I did get the reverse scallop to work with the ticket corner--that stamp has the guard that comes off--but my corner rounder does not have anything that comes off. I think it is an older version. It just has a little area to slip the corner of the paper into-nothing comes off. I might call my demo and look at her corner rounder punch. If I can- later today I will scan you in a pic so you can see it. Thanks sooooo much for your patience!

I also just looked at Amy's card (on the link you just sent). The scallop on her card (it's purple) does not look like the scallop made with the ticket corner punch. Why do they look different? (don't laugh!!!)
