Default Will someone who reads French help me?

I can't read French
There is a background stamp of French text in the new SU catalog on page 129.
It is called "En Franais " which I think means "In French"

Basically what is that stamp saying? Is it about love, babies, sympathy inspiration or ?.

I wouldn't want to use it on a birthday card with a loving message only to find the text is actually a sympathy message . Or on a card for my beautician who lost her father if it is a romantic message

It could be embarrassing to use text in a foreign language if you don't have a rough idea what it is saying
Thanks

Barbara, if you can copy the words somehow...then google "google translate."

At the Google Translate site, you just put your text into the box and click translate in French and it will tell you what it says.

The first sentence is "I embraced the summer dawn". I did a search and it looks like this is from a poem called "Dawn" by Arthur Rimbaud. Here's a site that has the French and English versions of the poem.
Arthur Rimbaud: Dawn

Wow you are correct. That is the poem on the stamp. This group has brilliant minds I used a magnifying glass to compare the stamp and the poem.

I had tried to copy the page from the catalog, but the writting on the stamp was so small the translation site I used did not translate it . I never thought to just translate the first sentence and Google the results
THANKS!!!

I really like that stamp and I am going to buy it

When En Francais first came out I asked this question too on a different forum. A demo gave me the poem. I bought the stamp and it's beautiful. One of my all time favorite stamps. Here is the poem.

Rimbaud- "J'ai Embrass L'aube D't" ( I have held the summer dawn in my arms.)

I embraced the summer dawn.

Nothing was stirring yet on the fronts of the palaces. The water was dead. The crowds of shadows had not yet left the woodland road. I walked, waking vivid warm breaths, and the precious stones looked up, and wings rose without sound.

The first adventure, on the path already full of cool pale gleams, was a flower that told me its name.

I smiled at the blond dishevelled waterfall among the fir trees: on the silvered peak I recognised the Goddess.

Then I lifted the veils one by one. In the lane, waving my arms. On the plain where I denounced her to the cockerel. In the city, she fled among bell-towers and domes, and, running like a beggar across the marble quays, I chased after her.

At the top of the road, near a laurel wood, I surrounded her with her gathered veils, and I felt her vast body a little. Dawn and the child fell down at the foot of the wood.

Waking, it was noon.
