Default Tsukineko All Purpose Ink

Don't know if this has been posted before, but SU has the Tsukineko All purpose ink in the new holiday mini. I trying to find some ideas on using it. Has anyone preordered this item and what are you doing with it. I googled it and it brought me to Tsukineko page but shows all the great colors and how they are using it to paint on fabric. Looking for other ideas to use the 3 colors that SU will be carrying. Anyone got some ideas? Cyndy

I just heard about this ink the other day - my LSS is getting it in and it is supposed to arrive very soon; I'm thinking most places have not received it yet, though. I am looking forward to learning more about it.

I personally don't have it yet, but at the SU! convention we saw some good demos and samples using it. It gets lightly dabbed on with a sponge -- a little goes a very long way. Some colors are more opaque and some just add a slight shimmer to the stamped image or background. Buying some soon -- looks fun to play with.

It's really easy to use. The bottle is small (1/2 oz) but don't let that fool you. A little goes a very long way! I have the champagne mist (gold) and it adds a nice shimmer while letting the underlying color shine through. I used a sponge to apply it to my stamp after I inked it with Soft Suede and then stamped. It worked nicely. I do suggest that you clean the stamp prior to inking again, as the shimmer will get onto your pad.

As for getting the paint onto the stamp, I just used a cut up stampin' sponge. I also only used the paint left in the lid of the bottle after I shook it up (with the lid on). I stamped four or five images using the liquid just in the top of the lid. I haven't actually made a card of the images yet, as I was just playing around.

I'm assuming you're talking about what SU is calling "Shimmer." I saw an online video in which the demonstrator inked her stamp with regular stamping ink, used a sponge dipped in the Shimmer's cap to apply the paint to the inked image, stamped, then used the sponge to pickk up more Shimmer from the cap. Does the ink from the stamp make its way back into the Shimmer cap and paint?
