Martha Stewart punch..HELP!!

I have 2 of the MS border punches. They do NOT punch out in the middle. I've tried the wax paper trick, along with the aluminum foil trick as well! They are tearing up my paper. What else can I do to get them working????

I took mine appart and made sure everything was alined right, I fixed it, but stopped buying them and now just stick to Stampin up's punches.

I punch on a flat, hard surface. I also put some pressure with one hand on the part of the punch that punches and use the other hand to push the lever.
I can use the punches with SU and Papertrey Ink cardstock. Hope this helps.

I bought two of them and returned both for the same reason. I stick with SU punches. They work the best!

EK Success makes both the Martha Stewart punches and the SU punches. That being said, I don't know why the MS ones are 'hit or miss'. This is my 2nd SU scallop border punch and all of the scallops don't punch out clean either. Some of the outer edges are fuzzy. Also, many of the MS border punches are somewhat intricate with lots of open space so those punches might be harder to use.

I have almost the whole line of the border punches and I can honestly say I have never had a problem with them punching...I wonder why some have so much trouble with them....anyway, sorry ladies that you have having problems with them. I love all her punches...blessings.

This is why i will never buy another MS punch. I had a few of them that stopped punching.
Michaels refused to take them back. The company offered to replaced them IF I paid all the shipping. They ended up in the trash.

I have a hard time with the thicker CS (like SU), but like someone already said, if I put it on a HARD surface (not the carpet) and lean on it, they work...
I agree that they are more intricate and that's why they are harder to use. My Fiskars one that is intricate is the same way.

Intricate punches are just not designed to work with cardstock as thick as SU's, I think. You might try using something like Bazzill when using those. I do think it's hit or miss but I've never really had any issues with my MS punches. I do, however, have a problem with my SU scallop border punch. It creates the fuzzies that another poster mentioned earlier. My Fiskars scallop border punch works much better. You may want to invest in a can of dry silicone spray for your punches. I haven't tried it myself but I've heard this can make pretty much any punch behave.

Thanks ladies!! I'll try punching on my stamp desk...w/ both hands-no more holding it!

meluvstampin 10-28-2009 03:51 AM

Mine would not even cut DSP that was thin. THere are others that had this as well.
When I got a reply from the company they said that some are faulty and they will replace if the customer will pay shipping. I will not pay all that shipping just for a replacement punch.
