I've heard good things about the classic (pigment?) but what about the dye pad. Is it as good? I have a Memories white pad and it's okay but if SU is a lot better, I may put it on my wish list. If you could only buy one white pad, would it be pigment or dye? I don't do T-h-a-t much embossing. TIA.
I have both dye and pigment and prefer the pigment. I don't do that much embossing either, but I love the craft (pigment) for it's richer color! SU doesn't have white in dye.....but I don't think you'll be sorry with craft white!!
I prefer my Blanco white dye pad to any of my white pads. It is richer and more intense than any white pigment I have ever owned. It is hard to find so when you do find it be sure to buy a couple of refills for it. It dries instantly and even dries well on vellum. I use it to make snowflakes on vellum for winter cards and love it for that.
I bought a white dye pad at JoAnn's and it was terrible! Sorry, I forget the brand name. The images from it were barely visible. It dried out quickly and I tossed it. I've had the SU craft white for over a year, and it's still super juicy! Usually I dry what I stamp with a heat gun because it does take a long time to dry on its own.

I have a few white pads and by far prefer the pigment to the dye pads anyday. They, IMO, make a much brighter stamped image. I have the SU pad as well as another and they are both equal IMO.
This thread reminded me that in a stamping class we learned to use the Memories White dye ink pad for heat embossing more detailed images on vellum. It stays wet long enough to use the embossing powder and you keep a lot more of the detail than when you use the "goopier" pigment ink.
