Make the Cut or Sure cuts alot HELP!!!

If you have a Cricut or Silhouette and own MTC or SCAL. Which is the better software to invest in. I want to be able to cut png, svg, pdf and a multitude of other file. Please give me opinions and tell me why you went with the one you did.

TIA

Hi Suzy,

The answer actually depends on whether or not you own a Silhouette since you can no longer use 3rd party software with your Cricut.

When I did have a Cricut, I used SCAL but have since purchased a Silhouette and now use Silhouette Designer Edition software (Silhouette comes with a basic software that is also good but you can't import SVGs). In finding tutorials for it, I found that most are using MTC or Silhouette's software (either version) so if it were me, I would have gone with MTC but love my Designer Edition and don't need any more than that.

I'm sure you will get a lot of compelling information here about the differences between MTC and SCAL, but I really don't remember why I went with SCAL when I bought it, it was probably on sale. (PS, I got SDE for 50% off so it was only $25 to upgrade).

Provo Craft sued MTC and SCAL, you can't use those programs with the Cricut.

I know they were sued I have both machines for this reason. I am seriously considering selling both of my E and E2(never been used) so I can free up space. The reason I posted this is I know quite a few people still use the software with the Cricut. They actually only sued SCAL MTC decided to change to avoid the suit.
