Default Prismacolor markers......again

Hi! I know we have discussed this a lot but does anyone have a pic of the colors that are included in the 72 set? Julie was saying there were too many grays for her taste but I was wondering overall if this was still a good selection. Thanks for any and all input!

Hi,
This link is to the Prismacolor site and specifically to the colors in the 72 set. You can click the tabs above that for the other sets.

Hope that helps!

Wow, I agree...too many grays and not near enough browns.

Hi,
I bought 72 markers from this seller on ebay:
http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZlotsofjoblotsQQhtZ-1

It was NOT the 72 marker set - they are individual and do not come with the case, but he lists the ones you get (or are likely to get) and I think that I got 68 of the 72 he listed. The other 4 were different from what he listed, but they were all different, so I didn't care that much. I already had the 24 set, so I ended up with only about 10 repeats. Right now, he has 72 markers and 48 pencils listed for $79.99, which I think is a great deal! The only thing is, he ships from Canada, so it will take a little longer to get here, but I couldn't be more pleased.
The other individual markers I plan to get here:
http://www.markersupply.com/prma.html
They don't have all the colors, but they have enough! It is one of the few places that seem to offer reasonable shipping on these. I haven't ordered from them yet, but I hope to soon, so I can't speak to their customer service or shipping speed.

Hope that helps a little!
Connie

I just bought the ultrathin pencils (set of 12) just to learn how to use the gamsol with it- but i'm confused on how are the markers used? Coloring direct? is that how most SCS'rs do it?

Very nice link! Thank you!

I used to look at those big sets of pencils and wonder why I would need 8 different shades of blue or brown (name the color). Then I bought a small set and dang it all if I didn't find out I needed a different shade! Those greys probably all have different undertones and each probably matches perfectly with another color tone. Some greys are blue underneath and can really pull the blue out of the image. Some are green underneath.

I love them all, but couldn't imagine spending that much money on markers. Of course, three months ago, I couldn't imagine spending $60 on colored pencils.
