I bought a Zutter bind-it-all about 3 years ago and I have never used it. I bought it with the intentions of using it for our wedding books, but I just got overloaded with doing other things.
Now, I am absolutely clueless when it comes to actually doing anything with it. Does anyone else have this problem with some things that they buy?
Yes, I do. I was fine with all this buying until someone mentioned that we're supposed to be making things with all this stuff. Man, that really burst my bubble.
(I do love -- and use! -- my BIA, though!)

I had a BindItAll in my hand this afternoon and put it back. I also looked at the 7 Gyypsies Binderie and put it back. Even tho I had the 40% coupon, I just couldn't justify the purchase of either one. I have the Cropodile and the Big Bite, and I figure between the two, I can punch holes and twist the curly binding thing in it myself. I won't buy Nesties unless I have the coupon or its a 50% sale. I've even got the same way about paper. I have a ton of stuff to start with, but the CB is my only machine. Gotta get rid of the 14,000 pounds of DP (JK) before I let anything else into the house, that's what I say, but it didn't stop me from going to HL and M's today. I think I am sick....LOL

Sometimes I will buy something and then end up not using it, but usually for the purpose that it doesn't work the way I want it. Like the Fastenator. I had big plans for that thing, and I just sit there warily staring at it and then move on to something else.
Paper, on the other hand, I can't count how much paper I have bought over the years that I won't use. I give it away instead. I've learned though now, (hopefully) what my style is with paper and what paper I will use and what paper I won't use. So...maybe I'll quit buying the paper I won't use! (erm. Maybe. I said Maybe.)
Oh ya, just look at the hundreds of stamps I have that haven't seen ink yet. And I keep buying more. I just indexed some tonight, so they did get inked up, but who knows when they'll actually be used on a real project. I must say tho that I still really like all the stamps I bought and would use them. Just getting around to using them is another thing entirely.
I did that with a laminator three years or more ago. Got it free on one of those Black Friday Staples deals, so I got it. I thought someone would need it eventually, so I've had it sitting in an unused closet for all that time.
Then about a month ago, my Jenna needed a school ID. Well, I made her one and laminated that sucker. Voila.
I bought the Big Shot and never used it. I had some great texture plates that I planned to use on cards, but I never did. And I just couldn't bring myself to buy any dies after I bought my Slice. I finally sold everything Big Shot I owned to my good friend really cheap, and it makes me happy that it is no longer collecting dust!
My Bind it All got used ONE TIME! lol! I made a cute bridal shower book for my best friend's shower. She loved it. That thing was so hard for me to use that I never went back to it. I think about it all the time but never take it out...in the basement it sits next to my Fastenater...and 40 million stamp sets that have never seen ink. Maybe it is time for a yard sale now that the weather is so nice.
Now that I've heard all of you girls, I'm thinking about all of the stamps sets that I have bought and haven't even taken out of their packages yet. :(
Maybe once I get my craftroom back, I'll try to make a few cards a week using my different stamps.

I too have the Fastenator that sits unused. However, I have figured out a way to use the "staples" I bought for it. I break off one staple, determine where I want it placed, dip the prongs onto my inkpad, and then put the inked staple where I want it. It leaves little dots of ink, which I pierce; I insert the staple, turn the paper over and then bend the prongs down with a pencil eraser. Perfect placement everytime, and no bent CS if I'm using the heavy stuff. HTH!

Reason: correct spelling
The BIA is the only thing I have ever bought that I haven't used. I have tons of stuff, but I do use it all. I had big intentions of making cute little calendars with my BIA. That was 2 years ago! But, I'm not getting rid of it because I may make myself a 2011 calendar! LOL.

I've been trying that, it seems to work well. Still wish the stapler worked the way it should, but I'm at least using my fastenator staples this way!
the cropadile i had to have. it is so unwieldy i never use it. and i have tons of eyelets....they always get smooshed. that's one of the reasons i bought that pink mega punch !
and by the way....i have lots of stamps that never met ink too
I just bought the crop-a-dile... and then saw the other one that you can go to the middle of the page... I'm buying the bigger and giving the little one as a blog prize.
<sigh>...I have several poor unused stamp sets that I bought when I first started this hoarding...I mean hobby.
I bought many stamp sets not knowing what my "style" was and so now they sit. Every time I see them I think "maybe I'll use that" but I always go to my trusty favorites. I can't get myself to give them up.
Chautona, do you have a WalMart in your area? Last week when I was there they had the Big Bite CAD for $10 on clearance. Others have also mentioned they have seen at their WalMart also You might check it out.
The WM near me had the CAD Big Bites on clearance for $10. I have one, but bought 3 more. At that price, I couldn't pass them up. Some of the younger women in my family have started doing a little crafting, so 3 of them will end up with new CAD-BBs some day.
I have so many stamps that have never seen ink. I would probably have to make cards 24/7 for a year to use every stamp I have! Same "problem" with dies. I just love 'em.

I have a bind it all and hate it! I'm thinking of selling it on ebay really cheap. I also have quite a few of the wires, most still in packing. If anyone wants one cheap, I'll sell it for 25.00 with all the wires but you have to pay for the shipping. BTW, it's the blue one.
we should do a round robin...everyone picks a set they dont use and send it on. then we'd have new sets we might not use. at least it's a change !
I was just thinking that. A "Trash to Treasure" box swap. Someone starts it with stuff that they don't use, mails it to the next person on the list who swaps stuff out and so on.
The white elephant in my craft room is my Pazzles machine. I "invested" in a really quality machine that would do ALL the paper cutting I would ever need. I couldn't get the cut pieces off the sticky pad which I eventually ruined. It's been sitting on a prominent place on the cabinet collecting dust. So I got myself a BigShot and dies, used them correctly from the first day on, Love it. Oh ya, and I bought a laptop computer to use with it, my DH uses it all the time. Can anyone say too much $$$$$.
i got the BIA to make everyone a calendar for christmas and they loved them - i made digi ones - make it once print it 7 times then bind - really easy! i DO have lots of stamp sets i have yet to use but everything i have that i have not used is really due to lack of time. i keep saying once she is in school, once she is in school....DH gets annoyed with my spending from time to time but he HAS said that it isn't too bad because i use it all.
now i DO have a lot of stuff i USED to use and then moved on to something else later....
