Can the Life Changing Brushes or the regular Long Handled makeup brushes be washed? Will soap ruin the bristles?
I've watched videos where folks just brush them on clean paper and put them away. But, as I was making 1 card with evening sky blending, my brushes began putting down a bit of brownish looking ink. I've tried brushing the ink of on clean paper and 30 minutes later, I am still getting light ink put down on the paper. This is my first time using the brushes.
I've used liquid hand soap and water on the ones I have (I got the makeup style cheap brushes from Ebay) and they've held up fine. They are all made of a synthetic material and should hold up to washing.
I purchased some silicone scrub pads (amazon) to clean mine with, after seeing the new brushes put out by one company; (they were all color coordinated with a stand), they had a silicone scrubby thing they were offering for a short time for their introduction sale. I've not tried it yet, as it is in my birthday package to opened yet..... LOL But, I think they'll work nicely! ;)
I saw a video with the brushes color co-ordinated in a stand; but don't recall seeing the scrubby thing. I would also be interested in seeing this scrub pad.
I saw the scrubby thing they offered on their site--can't remember the company. It was only offered for a short time, when they first came out with them, as a "special." It is the same company you're probably thinking of... they had a stand too. You'd have to look on their blog site & see if you can find that post. It might have only been offered on their store site at the time. But, that is why I looked for my own! ;)
I got a bunch of cheap makeup brushes on ebay so that I could have one for each color range (signified by the washi on the handle). I just rub the excess ink on some scrap paper when I'm done using one and haven't had any problems with color contamination.
I also had never thought of trying this type of brush with paint. I have an extra, so maybe I will use it for that.

My set came with various sizes. I would love a set of all the same sizes, like yours, so I could have one for each color family. Where did you get yours?

Yes, please let Jeanne and me know what seller you purchased them from on eBay! And if you don’t mind my inquiry- how much were they?
I'm not sure if this is the same seller because I can't see my order history for some reason, but this looks like the same brush and same listing. Shipping is from China, so it takes a couple weeks, but you can order a bunch of nice sized ones without the bitty ones that are less useful for crafting. Yours look similar to the ones I bought in bulk on Amazon - this is the listing I bought from and they were about $8 I think for a set of 6 - they have been out of stock for quite some time, but maybe you can use the stock photo for a reverse image search?
