Leaky Spot?

I have one color in my Rich Regal spots that keeps leaking ALL OVER the rest of them. It's quite annoying. Now everything is dyed red :P I can't figure out what to do, but it's a color I use and don't want to throw it out! I guess I should and just get the pad. I'm just bummed that now all the other color info is bright red.

check for any threads that may be hanging off the edge of the pad. Trim them off. They act as a wick and just suck the ink right out of the pad and unto everything around. Yes, this is experience talking.....lol.

I'd call your demo and have her call SU! demo support. They're such a wonderful company that they'll want to resolve the problem for you.

Make sure you're storing the spots right-side up! I was storing mine upside-down, and I went to use them and discovered they were very juicy! I think they ink them a little more heavily than the pads, because even leaving them right-side up, they've got PLENTY of ink.

And never store them on their side....just asking for trouble with any ink pad.

Thanks everyone, they were stored right side up and no leaky hairs! It's so odd :) I emailed SU and we'll see what they have to say.

storing spots

Allright, I'm totally confused now! :? Everything I've read and heard regarding storing SU dye ink pads is that they need to be stored upside down to keep the ink on the surface of the pad (which is also why SU invented their new style pad, so that it would be stored upside down inside the container.)
NOW you're saying that the spots should be stored right side up? Which is it - right side up or upside down?!!!!!!!!
Please, someone give me a straight answer on this so I can quit with the flip-flopping of the pads!

ink pads

I have a couple of craft pads new style that if I store lid up leak everywhere. You can imagine the mess craft ink makes anyway I flip them over and they don't leak and are still very wet.

I keep all of my Stampin'Up pads in a plastic drawer, all together. I keep the old style up side down and the new ones right side up. Lately I've been finding an oily type substance inside the drawer, messing up the outsides of my ink pad cases. I think it must be coming from my white craft pad. It started after I purchased it. I started keeping it inside a plastic baggie. That pad is very wet. Has anyone else had problems with an oily mess?

As far as I have read pigment pads -- the craft pads -- are not usually stored upside down like the dye pads; that's likely the source of the oily substance in your drawer. (I'm not a big fan of the design of the SU pads, but NEVER could understand why they had the pigment upside down -- just hoping for craft spots in the future!)

I only have one set of craft pads, but I store those upside down! They are the new style pads, so if right side up, the ink is upside down, KWIM? Anyway - I've read that pigment ink SHOULD NOT be stored that way. Plus they were so juicy when I first got them I could barely use them! Storing them upside down has fixed the problem for me, but it's kinda funny that we have the nifty new style of pads and they work great for the classic inks, but now my craft inks are upside down! :D

I don't have the spots, but could it be that because of the size of them and how the lids are that they are subject to leaking when stored upside down? I've always understood that dye inks (SU! classic) should be stored upside down, and pigment inks (SU! craft) should be stored right side up.

Hope that helps!
