Default Spellbinders Label Two

I just purchased this set and am having a devil of a time with the embossing part. I own several of the nesties so I know it's not what I'm doing. This is what happens. The largest die doesn't always cut at the angle part and then when I try to emboss the paper will not stay in place. I've ruined so many labels and am really getting frustrated. I've tried the suggestion the have at Spellbinders of how to put the mat down and that does work but not all the time. It seems that the cut paper does not lie inside the nestie like the other nestibility dies.

I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem? I know of one person who also has this set and she said she has not had any problems.

thanks
Donna

Donna.....When I use the Nestabilities, I cut first then emboss. After cutting, I don't remove any paper from within the die or around it. I just place my silicone sheet in place in the sandwich and emboss. Everything stays in place and cut and emboss work great! I am using a BIGkick to do this in.

When you lay your paper on the die for cutting, be certain that there is at least a small amount extra outside of the entire die. Also, try to place the die and paper more toward the middle of your cutting pads rather than at the very top of bottom. Going through the middle of the machine no matter which machine you are using works for the best compression for cutting and embossing.

Thanks for your reply. I have done all those things. I do have about 16 or so different sets of nesties so I'm sure it's not how I'm doing it. To me it just seems that the cutting section is not as deep as the other sets so therefore the paper shifts around.

I really wonder if I just got a bad set???

I'd really encourage you to give them a call at 888-547-0400. I've had a very satisfactory conversation with them in the past, although it was not regarding a problem similar to this.

By the way, for anyone else reading this as well, their website has finally been redesigned. After just a quick look around, it certainly seems like an improvement!

I haven't had that particular problem yet but I did try cutting with them in the Big Shot using the Crease Pad, which has worked before, and it didn't cut this one. I even used the plastic shims that come with the Crease Pad, which I never had to use before, and it still didn't cut. I know they had production problems, maybe this was one they didn't catch in time. When I used just the MPP and two clear plates it worked fine, but I think you may be right about the cutting edge being more shallow.
