Laminating chipboard?

My sister and I are making chipboard luggage tags for my mom for her birthday. We're using the Stampin' Up! OnBoard Chipboard accents. I'm wondering if we can laminate these using the Xyron 900. The chipboard is less than the 1/10" limit for running through the Xyron, but I'm not sure if the laminating will work! We are keeping the design pretty simple & thin- no eyelets, brads or ribbon until after we've finished them. Has anyone tried this? Would we be better off to just use Mod Podge?

Yes it will work, but keep in mind that once you laminate them, other embellishments won't stick well to the laminate. It is coated with a wax (to keep it from sticking together in the roll) so adhesive doesn't work well. It WILL work though!

Thank you so much! I think we'll be ok as far as other embellishments- all we'll do after laminating is tie some grosgrain around the hanging-hole part (that isn't described well- hope you know what I mean). Thanks for your help!
