Interference Ink

What do you use this for? I had bought a stamp pad with a 40% off because I thought it looked cool. (I am a sucker for sparkly things!) Last night I tried using it and it just looks like sparkly watermark of each type of paper I tried. Is that all it is? Do you do something cool with it?

I know TAC sells these and some folks love them. While I don't have them, here's what it says in the catalog...

They are archival. These pigment inks are ideal for use on dark or glossy papers and have a dazzling effect on shrink plastic.

Hope this helps!!

Not sure if this is the same brand you got, but here is a link to a product review...

I LOVE LOVE LOVE these! When I first discovered them right after they had come out IIRC about 2 years ago, I emailed SU (I was a demo back then) and said...You have GOT to carry these...they will sell like HOTCAKES! But alas they didn't and my stamping club flocked to the local stamp store to buy them all up!!!! And I was very excited when I got the TAC catalog to see that they do sell these.

So how do I use them? The same way I would use versamark and PE powder together except there is no messy clean up. I stamp them on backgrounds and use them for shape stamps on black cardstock. I agree, that at first glance it almost looks like a watermark, but once you move the card and catch some light the whole thing just POPS!

These two cards were done solely with the interference inks with the exception of the greeting in the bottom right corner which was stamped with black.

Enjoy!!

Are we talking about Opalite pads?

Yes, Opalite pads are interference.

I've been told that you can use the reinkers to cover an image that you have colored with markers. Has anyone tried this?
