Default I Wish Stampin Up Would Offer.....

I have some colors of SU cardstock that I am low on but they are colors I don't use a lot of so I don't really want to order a whole package of 24 sheets. I really wish that they would offer half packs, like PTI does. I would actually order more stuff if they did. And it got me to thinking about other things I wish they would offer. So I figured I would start a list here and see what others can add to it. Maybe someone from SU corporate will read it and consider our suggestions for the next catty.

I wish SU would offer:

*Half packs (12 sheets) of cardstock colors

*A word window punch just a shade larger than the current one to be able to punch a mat for the current punch or to punch larger sentiments

*The in-color markers individually - like the regular markers are

*Patterned paper packs in 6x6 size for us non-scrapbookers

What would you like to see offered?

I would be an even happier stamper if Stampin' Up would offer:

* a "g" to go at the end of "Stampin'"
* cling-mounted stamps without the wood
* an option to buy stamps as singles rather than as sets (Sometimes I just want one or two stamps from a set, and I REALLY want them, but there are a bunch of stamps in the set that I know I'll never use . . . )
* the ScorPal or Score-it
* a teflon bone folder

And I reserve the right to add more stuff later when I think of it . . .

Oh yes, so wish in color markers were sold separately.
And a 12 count paper pack would be awesome!
6x6 papers... cling mount... You gals got it covered!!

A wider variety of brads would be great--especially if there were some shape brads in a theme to go with the DSP or stamp sets. Imagine a brad shaped like the Dasher stamp at the back of the catalog or a bat to go with the Halloween DSP and etc etc etc!

Yes but it would be nice if they could bought as singles like the others.
This is the reason why I will not buy those markers. I only really want 2 colors and I will not pay that much for them . There are many others that feel the same way.

I would the following

~cardstock packs of 12 sheets.
~ single In-Color markers
~Many more brads in colors and sizes
~more nature/teen/masculine/realistic stamps
~ink spots sold separately - (Again I will not buy a whole set for just a few)
~more single stamps
~more sentiments that fit everyday life and holidays

I would really like to see the organdy ribbons returned or more colors in the one like the whisper white with the satin borders and center. Also not so much in the wide grosgrain ribbons. Most of them are too bulky for cards. I love the tafetta ribbons would like to see them in all the colors.

I second all of the above suggetions! I'd like to see smaller packs of brads, pretties, etc. available. For example, I like the brushed brass round brads in the Vintage set, but not the other colors. I know demos have commented for years that they need to be able to buy embellishments in special quantities for workshops.

Yes... but you have to buy them in a set. The only in-color I like this year is the soft suede. So I don't want to have to spend money on all 6 colors when I wouldn't use 5 of them.

I am sure I could think of other things but right now I would like to buy individual sheets of designer paper. Sometimes the pack has some I really like a lot but I won't buy it because there are some in the pack I really dislike a lot more. For example in Walk in the Park I liked the yellows and blues but didn't like those green leaves or whatever they were.

LMBO!!! That was funny.
I wish that they would offer some kind of free shipping incentive. I do love my Rose Red cardstock, but hate to pay shipping and taxes. So I simply stock up during Sale-A-Bration, but still. And I agree with another poster, ink spots sold individually would be great. I like spots better than markers, but only want a few select colors.

you can always make them with a blender pen too, just use the reinker, this is what I did in the past. Or pick it up with a blender pen from the inkpad, just smoosh it onto the lid and go for it

Yes! That's why I quit buying from them.

For those of you who want the spot individually, you can do what I did. I made my own inkspots with a re-inker and a blank inkspot. Actually, I bought the ink cubes from the dollar store and replaced the foam with the Inkssentials cut&dry foam and then loaded it with the SU ink. Voila, homemade inkspots. I estimate each inkspot cost about $1.75, including my ink, taxes, shipping, etc.....

I've done this with past in-color markers but I don't think I get as good a result as with the already inked markers. Plus is so much more hassle to find the reinker and the blender pen and get that inked up than it would be to just reach for a pen. So I was glad that SU finally came out with in-color markers. I just wished they had offered them individually.

I buy blank ink pads from an online gourd supply store and buy the reinkers (for the in-colors) and make my own spots. I dont' like the large pads so this has worked well for me. It would be nice though it SU would offer blank spots for those who don't want to buy all the colors in a color family. I know... the idea is that if they only offer them in a set, people will buy the whole set and they will make more money. But I think it's the opposite effect a lot of times. If you only want a couple colors and can't get them unless you buy the whole set, then you are less likely to buy anything at all.

I would also like the larger Word Window Punch, as well as a sentiment set that was made to go inside it. I know there are plenty of sets that have phrases that fit in there, but it would be nice to reach for just one set knowing it'll fit rather than having to check various sets for the right phrase in the right size.

I'd also like to see some of the Hodgepodge Hardware offered separately. There are some shapes I love and use up quickly and others that just sit there.

I'd love it if they'd offer just the bare rubber - no blocks, no foam, no case. I unmounted all my sets and though I sell my blocks on Ebay and repurpose the boxes (or sometimes sell those too), I'd love the option to just not get them at all. It'd be more environmentally friendly and cheaper too!

I'd also like a free shipping offer from time-to-time or even as a hostess offer instead of some of their other offerings. I love their incentive hostess stamps and extra free products, but sometimes I would honestly just prefer free shipping (like when I don't like any of the free hostess sets or once I've collected all the ones I want).

Finally, I wish they had more ribbon styles. That is one of the main reasons I order from Papertrey Ink - they're ribbon and buttons are awesome. They're still building their color collection so I would love if SU had some of the ribbons they have - colored twill, polka dot, etc - and available in all the colors. It's so confusing trying to remember which colors are offered in which styles. I would love more variety and more uniformity.

We're not asking too much, are we? hehehe ;)

I wish they would add some of the in colors to their permanent line
I wish they would impove their sentiment selection
I wish they had more grossgrain ribbon...I finally went to really go wild with a ribbon order and realized they don't have all that many colors
I wish they had brads in packages of one color, I don't use a ton of different color papers and the brads that are offered I don't seem to use

I wish they would allow us "non-hostess" customers to purchase the hostess sets in the front of the catty.

I agree. I realize the idea of the sets is that you will want them and host a party. But for those of us who don't live anywhere near their demonstrator or don't know anyone else who stamps or are interested in stamping, there is no way we will ever be able to earn a set unless we spend more than $150 ourselves. You can get these sets on ebay but they go for an astounding amount of money.

You ladies have made some great suggestions and I agree with almost all of them...especially the unmounted cling option! I just completed dismounting over 100 SU sets and putting them on EZ Mount. I really freed up a lot of shelf space in my small craft room.

Seriously...Splitcoast is not an SU site. Fine to discuss things, but SU doesn't have anything to do with us here, so it isn't nearly as effective to do it here when writing SU with suggestions might actually get heard, kwim? Yes, lots of demos pass things on when we read them, but nothing speaks as loud as when customers contact them with requests and suggestions...

Feedback is listened to, but not if it doesn't get read, lol. Write to them! It's not like you'd be askin' for stuff a lot of demos would like, too...

Good point there, Betsy, but it's also good to chat with others about it here. There's a couple of things that I hadn't thought of that have been mentioned. This may not be a SU site but it is a stamping one.

I wish they would offer more sets aimed at the teenager - there seems to be a real gap between little kid and adult.

More choice of albums - especially D-ring 12x12.

When I posted the original question, it was just to start a conversation about things that we would like SU to offer and have some fun chatting. When I mentioned in the op that "maybe someone from the corprorate office will read this and put the items in their next catty" I was just joking around. I'm sure no one at SU reads this forum. And even if they did, that they wouldn't take in to consideration a couple of people asking for a few things. Especially because I'm sure they have discussed many of these options (like the unmounted version) and decided against them. Plus, I have written to other companies before and I always get the standard, non-commital form letter: "Dear Customer. Thanks for your letter. We appreciate your feedback." I'm sure SU would do the same thing. So, thanks for the link. It will be handy if others decide to write to them but I probably won't bother. I was trying to see what other SU customers, like myself, thought.

While SU! has a l-a-r-g-e warehouse/distribution center, they are limited as to spots on the "pick" line, which is why they cannot offer smaller packs, etc. If I wanted a half-pack of something, I'd find a friend (or my demo, but that's me) to share it with.

Also, I will tell you that at least one of these wishes is going to be coming true in January! (Don't ask me which one, though.:twisted

As for the Word Window, you can "lengthen" it if you cut a strip that's a bit skinnier than the punch. I'm sure I found that here on SCS long ago. The WW layers perfectly into the Modern Label punch.

Betsy is right about sending your suggestions to Stampin' Up! It may take a while, but they obviously don't disregard large numbers of requests, either.

A long time ago, I had a local demo that I could share cardstock with and we would each buy a pack (or more) of different colors and split them. But she is no longer a demo and, in my rural area, there are no other SU demos/customers that I know. My current demo is hundreds of miles a way, so sharing is not an option. I'm sure I'm not the only one in this boat. I realize that SU would have to make some changes, but I know for myself, especially in this economy, that I won't buy more than what I need. So instead of buying the 6 pack of in-color pens to get the one or two I want, or buying a 24 pack of paper when I only want a few sheets, I buy nothing.

I am familiar with both the shortening and lengthening techniques for the word window punch and have used them. But I would like to see something a little wider and longer to create a mat for the current sized punch. Right now I punch my sentiment then adhere that to my mat paper and carefully trim around it. It would be so nice just to have a punch sized to create a mat to simplify the process. Plus it could fit taller sentiments.

Again... just ideas I'm throwing out here. I'm not complaining or venting. I know I have lots of other companies I can order from if there is something from SU I don't like. But I do like SU products and want to order from them. Just offering some ideas for what would be great and seeing if others agree or if I'm the only one.

I agree with you in some cases I too would like the option of buying smaller packages of cardstock. My demo lives in another state, although we have split a number of packs.

I would enjoy a larger word window and have been somewhat surprised SU hasn't introduced one. I have been buying SU products since 1995, and have always enjoyed their products.

Peebsmama, you have some very good ideas I hope you will forward them on to Stampin Up. As for complaining/venting I realize that is not your intent.

Oh, no big, Susan, lol! I didn't read your post as a complaint and I wasn't intending to sound like I was chastizing. I just wanted to pass the link on to those that wanted to actually give suggestions to SU. No worries !

Actually, I was quickly losing battery power as I was posting last night, and I forgot one thing I was going to mention. The Modern Punch is just a touch longer than the word window punch, and I'm always amazed that it winds up giving me juuuuust enough room to squeeze in phrases that don't fit in the word window. That one has become my new "go-to" punch.

And as someone posted, yes, SU will offer cling-mounted rubber stamps in the next mini. No word on whether the entire line will be available that way in the next main catty or if they will just offer new sets going forward this option. The main thing is that this will be an option...SU is not abandoning wood mounts.

White brads would be nice. I like the quality of SU brads. I don't like the color on the white brads you can get at Michaels or ACMoore.

Also, It would be great to offer empty spots that could be filled with inkers.
I have gotten them at Mardi Gourds, but they are out of business.

I will have to contact SU with my suggestions.
It is good to share on this thread so we can all mention things we didn't think of to SU.

I decided to go ahead and contact SU through the link Betsy shared. But my email server said the address was undeliverable. So I guess I will try again.

Hmm.... SU offering cling mounts. That's a step in the right direction and I bet it will create a surge in sales for all of those that either don't mount or have unmounted their old sets. I still love my wood mounts but with space becoming a concern and if the price is much less expensive, I may have to consider the new option.

The ink color is just not the same. They dry out much faster and I I am not wasting all that time to just pick up a lil color on the tip.
Its just not worth it to me. besides - I would then have to buy the color refills and then the blenders.

Great idea!!!!

I think you only wanted Soft Suede anyway, but I am also reaching back in my currently pg brain, so only therefore only one reinker and then I pull the tip off my blender pen and filled it up, lasted quite a while that way. So it is another option if you don't want all 6 markers.
