A Little Birdie Told Me Distress Crayons vs. Gelatos

I was perusing a blog recently, and I skimmed over something I now wish I'd paid more attention to. The blog author was implying that the new (ish) distress crayons are quite similar to gelatos.

Can anyone w/familiarity with both products confirm or deny this?

I'm one with the gelatos already and would obviously like to pass on the distress crayons if they're similar.

Check out YouTube – there are a ton of videos now comparing the two products. Craft Test Dummies, May Flaum and Scrap Time come to mind…

This is a video from Sandy Allnock comparing gelatos, distress crayons. and oil pastels. I have both gelatos and distress crayons. I find the crayons much creamier. Hope you find the information that helps you decide.

Thx, all, for the help. I've read and watched and dug up some other videos. I don't know what most people are choosing, but, for me (at least for now), I think I'll save a few $s and pass on the distress crayons. The gelatos I own have positives and negatives, but they have on BIG thing to recommend them: I own them. Thx again for the help.

Craft Test Dummies just did a really good video comparing and testing them. It's worth a watch.
