I've seen the posts regarding the Scor-Pal that suggest most people really like it.
Does anyone have the Scor-It Mini or the larger Scor-It system sold by Archivers across the country?
Or the Top Score Multiboard sold at Crafterscompanion.com?
I know the Top Score system is a double-sided board with multiple score lines for less than $20 and the Scor-It has one raised scoring bar with multiple markings on the ruler that sells for $30. I'm not familiar at all (how it works) with the Scor-Pal at $40 and I want to know which system would be best for card-making?!
I'm thinking about purchasing one also, and came across this video to share for an idea with scoring and thought you may not have seen it and might be interested Forums at Splitcoaststampers

I have the Score-Pal and the other purple ones (Enveloper and forget the name of the other board). I do use them all, but really use the Score-Pal the most.
Score-Pal has actual ruler measurements (not metric) that you can use. With the Score-Pal, you can do any measurement you choose. Just find where to start if you're using a different measurement for a project. You can use it for any kind of project you need to score. Also the full 12x12 inch base, I find much easier to use with the Score-Pal.
The purple boards have letters, so you have to use their system for measuring your scores. The extra little emboss items the purple boards offer to me aren't worth squat. I did mark the purple boards with a sharpie marker so I know easily for scoring particular things. I have it, so I might as well use it from time to time rather than letting it collect dust. I've noticed that it also has come down a bit in price from what it was originally listed.
To me the Score-Pal is worth the $40 investment.
The Enveloper of the purple boards is nice, but again, you do have to get used to their system of measuring. Also, it doesn't have scoring for every size of envelope.
The Score-Pal can be used for ANY kind of measurement you want for cards or envelopes.
I first bought the Scor-It Mini and I really like the way it scores. However, at times it is very difficult to get the precision of placing the paper right in the center (sounds simple to find the center, doesn't it?) I only used it to score the standard size cards. Then I kept reading about the Scor-Pal on SCS and bought one. I love it. I like the way Score-It Mini scores better, however, I like the easy precision of the Scor-Pal and I just don't have time to fiddle with a tool to find exact center. Also you can do tons of projects with the Scor-Pal. If you are buying one, I recommend the Scor-Pal.
Ok I have always used the cutter kit from SU for my scoring....that was all I knew! I would hear people talk about Scor-It/Pal and think "why do I need that? I have my wonderful cutter kit!" But I didn't like that I had to use a ruler and grid paper to score with it!! I have "shaved" many a rulers with that thing!! =)
One day I was on HSN and saw the Enveloper/Top Scor and went ahead and ordered it! Love the enveloper and thought the Top Scor was awesome!!.....
Until I ordered the ScorPal to compare them....WOW!! I LOVE my ScorPal, keep it right at my feet and use it alot!!! I made a tote this morning in record time using the ScorPal!!
All the others will be stored away or sold!!

I am a cheapskate!!! I use one of those green mats that are made for quilters, a clear long ruler also made for quilters and an empty ball-point pen.
For trimming I just switch to a craft knife instead of the pen.
Someone here at SCS pointed me to a video at Creating Keepsakes. Erin Lincoln was using this method and it has saved me the cost of a scoring system. More Money for Stamps!!!!
LOVE my Scor-It. I have used the Score-It Mini at a demo at a Archiver's. Currently Arhiver's they have a 30% off coupon. However for the money, I would invest in the larger one.
