Usually I cut mine with scissors, or carefully with craft (xacto) knife.

I usually cut it straight, the thought of cutting at an angle never crossed my mind.

As well usually I never apply it straight from the bottle, unless it's large area I want to cover. I put a little bit on scrap paper, and use a paint prush (tiny) dedicated to crystal effects, or a toothpick to apply to my projects, that way I have more control over the crystal effects and where I want them to go.

Ive cut mine at angle.

An angle for me too, and a sharp knife. Cut it near the top to start - if you find it's too narrow you can always make it wider by cutting a fraction further down.
