HELP ME! Do I need a Cuttlebug? *merged*

I have a Sizzex and an Accu Cut machine, so why do I "need" a Cuttlebug? Now I need all the enablers on here to convince me. Joanns is having a sale if you buy the Cuttlebug, Cricut and 2 cartridges you get 89.99 back by mail. So do I really "need" one? (P.S. I love new toys!!)

Faereygirl 11-22-2006 10:45 AM

Well I can tell you...the Bug takes up less room than the SIzzix and still uses the same dies....but looks way cuter than the Sizzix too! :D

Jeanne S 11-22-2006 10:50 AM

I just got a Big Shot, so I certainly don't NEED one. Even though they are very cute. Cute is not gonna win this time. Really. Even if Julie has one. I mean it. They are very cute though. Don't need it. Did I say it's very cute?

Faereygirl 11-22-2006 10:52 AM

A few times, Jeanne....it's WICKED cute. :D

JulieHRR 11-22-2006 11:14 AM

Bwah ha haaaaaaaa, Jeanne!!!!

To the OP: Ya' don't *need* it.

Ya' WANTSSSSSSSSSSSS IT, Precioussssssssssss!!!!! http://www.millan.net/minimations/smileys/evilgrin.gif

AmyR 11-22-2006 11:22 AM

*snicker* Julie you are BAD - did I tell you I was gonna get the Big Shot and it's all your fault?? THEN I was talking to Keri and she said you want the Cuttlebug now - so I'm prolly gonne get that instead and it's ALL YOUR FAULT!! ;)

hotwheels 11-22-2006 11:25 AM

Are you maybe thinking about the Cricut?? It prolly will be on sale then. I know when ppl were saying WalMart now has them that it's around $179 US.
The Cuttlebug is made by the same company that makes Cricut (that's what I heard anyway) and is quite a bit cheaper I think - like around the $50 - $60 mark??

deshacrafts 11-22-2006 11:31 AM

Julie, I knows I don't neeeeed it, I just needed everyone to convince me I did!!! You crack me up.

Joann's has the Cuttlebug listed for 89.99....is that competitive?

No, $89.99 is NOT competitive for the CB . . .

Check out www.scrapbook101.com

They have it on sale right now, it seems, and are taking pre-orders!

All the dies and embossing folders are on sale there, too! (I think they're only taking pre-orders right now for those, as well????)

CardFanatic 11-22-2006 11:36 AM

I'm in the minority... I'm not impressed enough to spend that much money when my stamp wish list is too long. And it seems kind of like a fad to me. But that's just me. More stamps and ribbon make me happy.

You can't go wrong with either machine--they are equal! Serious!

The only advantage to going CB, is that the platform folds up, so if storage/counter space is an issue, then the CB might be preferred.

But, the BS lives up to its name--I love mine.

I also love my CB . . .

Now, I must choose . . . ACK! The agony . . .

deshacrafts 11-22-2006 11:37 AM

Thanks Julie, I really haven't looked at these, just saw them in their ad, and of course I have seen all the neat stuff you have been making with them....I am inspired!!!! Now all I need is some time....sigh!!!!

*shakes my head* tsk tsk tsk

Me thinks I'll go w/ the cuttlebug - since Christmas season is upon us I can hopefully get it!! ;)

Vervegirl 11-22-2006 12:10 PM

I saw that embossing plate and passed it by but after seeing that card I am going to have to go pick it up....

kristransue 11-22-2006 12:27 PM

I got one, it is cute, and I love it. It is, however, my first and only die cut machine. I liked its size, versatility, and cuteness. The dies and embossing folders seem my style and affordable. That being said I think I made a great choice, but I would have a hard time getting one if I already had a sizzix or another machine.

Oooo, thanks for the tip!! I just bought three embossing folders. They have great sale prices and the shipping isn't too bad! :)

Not bad if you use your coupon! Michaels has it for 79.99. It will probably go on sale Thanksgiving day, so use the coupon now. I'm sure the sale won't be as good as the coupon. Tho' you never know, I guess.

Oh, true! If you have a coupon that doesn't exclude the Cuttlebug (it probably has an exclusion in the fine print for the Cricut, I believe???), you would get it for a good deal!

I got mine online from Joann.com but, I had a coupon code that didn't exclude the Cuttlebug . . . until Joann's figured this out, evidently and altered the code . . . Mine went through and I got the 50% discount, but it sounds like others have not been so lucky . . . :(

Hmm, I'm looking through all this weeks coupons and Michaels does not exclude Cuttlebug, just Cricut products which are completely different. Joann's coupons only exclude the Cricut. So as of today, the Cuttlebug is coupon-ready! Who knows what tomorrow may bring in the newspaper? Did you hear about that Orlando newspaper that will supposedly weigh 5 lbs because of all the sale flyers?? Good grief, those poor paperboys!

Meema 11-22-2006 05:24 PM

Oh, Jen, I'm right there with ya!! I was ready to jump on the wagon and order a CB from Joanns.com, but they were sold out--those SCS girls, I'm SURE!!! Then I decided to cool my jets and wait while, and I'm glad I have waited. I'm going to let the dust settle before getting any die cut machine, because I think we are going to see more availability on the market for chip (or game) board pieces. Have already found some from K and Company!!! (with matching paper, no less!)

You and me BOTH! When I ordered my folders, I didn't see anything that said it was a pre-order. Now of course, I see the pre-sale statement on their website, but not then. Now I notice, too, that the price has gone up on them since then, as well. I was just a tad irritated! I just figure I'll keep looking locally for the ones I want, and if I find them in the meantime, I'll cancel my order from SB101.

HELP ME! Do I need a Cuttlebug?

okay so i guess i should start off with I am a junkie. Hi, my name is Ronee and I am a junkie. I want everything! I somehow am married to the best man ever and he often, along with my mommie, make sure I get all the things I want. SO now I want a Cuttlebug. I have a Sizzix. I have a Cricut. I have a Xyron. But yet, I want a Cuttlebug. Is it really worth it? I have this Michael's coupon that does not elimainate the Cuttlebug from its use. HELP ME!
Thanks in advance for your help.
ronee:twisted:

MSBetsyZ 01-13-2007 08:53 PM

Well, if you have a Sizzix, then technically you do not need the cuttlebug. You can use all of the cb's dies and embossing folders in the sizzix.

If you don't really like your sizzix, the ABSOLUTELY you need it, lol! It is portable, which the sizzix is not. It takes up very little space and can be stored on a shelf, if you ever let yourself put it away.

How am I doin' so far?

apigonfire 01-13-2007 09:15 PM

I say that you definately need some cuttlebug embossing folders and die cuts!!!
Although, the celery/lime green little machine is to die for! :)

kvmnh 01-14-2007 05:05 AM

I am also a junkie and "have to have" new toys to play with. I have the old Sizzix clunker and the cuttlebug embossing folders. They work great in it! I can not justify even to myself the need for the cuttlebug.
Good luck!
Kay

ronee 01-14-2007 05:21 AM

albrennick 01-14-2007 07:02 AM

reneejul1 01-14-2007 07:07 AM

OK - I am so getting a C/B, but I have to wait to save some pennines!

basketgirl 01-14-2007 07:29 AM

I sold my sizzix machine and then ran to buy the bug!!!!!!!!!!!

AprilJP 01-14-2007 07:34 AM

Just remember, you can't sell it.....

beckaroni 01-20-2008 06:59 PM

Cuttlebug great buy......

I bought my cuttlebug online at www.creativexpress.com for 35.00 and absolutely love it. I highly recommend them. I also bought some embossing folders off that site. I hope that special is still going on. Enjoy.....:D

Crafty Chelle 01-20-2008 07:07 PM

I just got one the other day for my bday. I'm so in love with it! Of course, I never had a die machine before so I can't compare it to anything else.

I got a Sizzlet thingy and it worked really well also. The embossing is FANTASTIC and it cuts so smooth and even!!

Once again, I am very happy to have mine!
