don't know if anybody else has had this problem, when using a couple of mu embossing folders it slices the card stock at some of the embossing. does anyone know of a way to fix this? Thank you in advance
I have a couple folders that do this if I'm using SU WW card stock. I just use a heavier card stock. I use a Big Shot and have also had good luck using no tabs when this occurs. HTH
It's all do do with the thickness of the card and the sandwich, you need to experiment with the particular card you are using, trying different shims and tabs
Popping a piece of copy paper into the folder with the cardstock you're embossing sometimes works - depends on the cardstock. Anne's misting trick is a good one, too.
I lightly mist with water too. I have a folder that has a bunch of gears on it and if I don't mist with water it will bust through the paper each time.
I had that exact issue for a long time with all my embossing folders in my new Big Shot. I actually used just the platform with no tabs and that helped tremendously.
Then, I started using framelits and other dies. No problem any more!
You can use a sheet of vellum in the folder with the card stock. When you are finished, just leave the vellum in the folder. It will solve the problem.
