Hi! I have a brand new Cuttlebug and would like a flower die that gives me lots of options for making flowers. A nesting die would be nice, but not a necessity. I like relatively small flowers but having some bigger ones as options would be fine. Here's one I found. Does anyone have it? I value everyone's opinions here. All of you are SO very talented!
I have THIS ONE that's made for the Cuttlebug. They're calling it "Asterisks", but they look like flowers to me (there's even a leaf - hello...?) The largest is about 1 1/2"-1 3/4". I also have Tim Holtz's "Tattered Florals" die. It's designed for Sizzix, but works just fine in the Cuttlebug, too. There's a "mini" version of it, too. I haven't felt the need to get anything else (yet).
There's a large & small flower, plus different sized leaves (with an adorable vein detail down the center). And you even get a large and small button die for the center of the flower.
I also like tattered florals by Tim Holtz, and he has a new one that requires extender plates . This one has many sizes of the same flower as well as leaves.
Have you looked at the Heartfelft Creations flowers like the daisy or Posy, once again up to 5-6 nested sizes to play with even if you dont buy the corresponding stamp. I mix all my die cuts from different companies together and nothing is sacred when I am creating, including what I use for the centres.
Of all my flower dies, the Spellbinders peony and dahlia are my favorites, You can also make wonderful flowers with any of the scalloped circle dies. These all have at least 5 sizes, so you can get really big or really small.
hi my favorite flower dies are the sizzix (tim holtz) tattered florals die it has many flowers in one die and can be layered to make one large flower as well or using the grunge method making prima-like flowers.. For specificly smaller flowers i love the sizzix build a flower die it has two cut out (just flower outlines with the middles of each petal cut out and two full bg flowers all in a small size these are great super fast additions to any card and look wonderful. sizzix dies work in the cuttlebug using only your clear plates no spacer... with them not only can you cut paper but you can cut felt, soda cans and material also
I am flower die addict. The one I don't have is Tim's Tattered flowers, lol. I don't know why. I really have no reason. I love Sizzix dies for flowers. If your looking for teeny tiny the Sizzlets are a good choice. Sizzlets really only work with paper. If your wanting to do fabric and other materials you will want the steel rule Sizzix dies.
I also love my Nestabilities. I really don't buy flower dies from Nestabilities. I buy the shapes and make them into flowers. I find a get more variety that way. I use a lot of scallop shapes for flowers.
Currently my favorite flower die is Sizzix Hello Kitty Flower. It's long since been retired.
Hi DeeAnn! Well, I certainly see how easy it is to become addicted to flower-type dies! There are so many cool ones. I googled the HelloKitty die. I can see why it is a favorite. I saw some very beautiful flowers made from it.
Hands down, Tim Holtz's Tattered Floral Die. So versatile. Can be used to cut paper, grunge paper, grunge board and SO many other things. I can't do that with Cricut images.
