I can only speak for the Silhouette, I have the older model, not the new Cameo, but the reason I went with a Silhouette, is exactly as you say- you can cut any font, any size or style. The ability to weld letters to make words & greetings is ace. Also, remember that there are many 'dingbat' fonts available, where you have images instead of letters. I have masses of them now, and can cut things like flourishes, clocks, hands, you name it, the chances are someone has created a dingbat font. Urban fonts, DAFont are both good safe sites. When I bought mine, about 5 years ago now, the price was roughly the same as for 3 alpha sets for a Red Sizzix, so it was a no-brainer really. Also, with sites like UKScrappers forum, you can get loads of info/tutorials, and when you have been a forum member for a month, access to all the cutting files the members share- literally hundreds.
