Ok I got this delievered tonight and got it set up. I wanted to "weld" a word together and cut it. But I can only get the basic program to work. And how do you use the cutting mat? Which tip should I use for SU cardstock? I am all bumbed because hubby told me I could get it and now I can't figure it out. The manual does not say how to do these. Many thanks to all you wonderful ladies. You guys have so much talent and expertise.
Thanks again,
Kendra

just from watching it being demo'd on HSN it looked like you clicked on the whole word and then moved it around to weld together each letter. Try seeing if they have a website with a video on there..LMK if you like it i was thinking about it since i sold my cricut cause it didnt do that and thats what i really wanted is to make my own words together
I unpacked mine yesterday. I have to say, the documentation is very lacking in how to install the software. I called tech support and was told you only need the newer software installed (Cut & Create CD), but then there was no driver loaded to run the machine. Called back and he said, let me check with someone else, then said you need to load the old and the new disc.
With that said, you should have gotten 3 CD's. Install the CD called Xyron Wishblade, then install the CD called Create and Cut. They are two different programs. Once they are both installed, the Create & Cut has all the features you need, so you probably won't need to actually use the original program on the Xyron Wishblade CD, but that is where the controller that communicates with the machine is located.
There is also a more detailed user manual in a pdf file on the CD.
The weld feature is on the new software. The HSN disc just has some templates and isn't needed for the actual operation.
I have to go to a meeting, but will see if you have more questions when I return. This is a fairly complex software application, especially if you've never used a drawing program before.
If you have problems, call their tech support at 877-392-9474. I told them they are going to be getting a lot of calls because their docs were not clear.
Many thanks for the help!!!! I will be calling them to because there is no real instructions!!! I am going to try to checj the websites when I get home.

My mom and I are going in on either a Wishblade or a Cricut or a simalar machine. We had a Cricut in our hot little hands yesterday and decided against it. I REALLY want a Wishblade but have bought so many things only to be disappointed! Thank you Suzanne for posting the sites. The Wishblading Well is absolutely awesome!
I know that this question has been asked over and over, but would you recommend the Wishblade over other systems? I am pretty computer literate so the software doesn't really scare me. We do both scrapping and stamping. Sell me a machine guys!
This is really for Emme but wanted to share. I just got back from the CK convention in Portland Oregon. I didn't check out the wishblade to much but a company called Pazzle has a similar product that started the industry(according to them). They make the industrial(sp) models that companys use to make their own die cuts. It looks to be a very cool machine, and easy to use. They had a demo going and we watched. It windows based and looked simple to use. Also besides cutting they have other tools that can be used. Here is the link to see. http://www.pazzles.com/ It seem like they have been at it longer and have worked the kinks out. It is more expensive for the the bigger the package you get, but simplicity would be key for me. The only bad thing is the phone support will cost you money after so much time depending what package you buy. The lowest cost package only has 3 months free phone support. There is free online support and according to them many Q&A areas, forums ect. They also do tutorials every week? I can't remember how often and you get free either clip art or fonts? Again I can't quite recall. You also can import clip art. I thought it was cool so you might check it out, and compare.
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/CutterVenting/ This is another group you have to join. They do all the machines and talk about the differences, which was helpful to me to understand which one I wanted (I think...lol..lol) and how much I wanted to spend... Of course I fell for HSN Wishblade, the only time I ever clicked on the channel and there it was...the new Wishblade... oh well... I can't wait for it to come. On the message board, they did say to read through some of the stuff on the links that had already been posted... so you had an idea of what was what when the machine came, so I have been trying to do that... about saving files, etc...
so.. Good Luck ladies...and post what you have learned...please...
