Heat Embossing

What brand do you all use for a heat embossing tool? I'm about to try out one by Marvy. Also what brand of embossing powder do you go with?

I got the Marvy heat gun a few years ago at Michael's with a coupon. It works great.

I buy Stampendous and Ranger embossing powders.

+1 for Marvy Heat Gun. Works well for me.

I buy my embossing powders from Michaels with the coupon so they're all "Stamp N Stuff" which I think is by Stampendous. No qualms with them.

Just looked at my heat gune it's a "Nicole" I think I got it at Mike's with a coupon works great. I use pretty much any kind of embossing powder, have Stampendous, Close to my Heart some from JoAnn's.

I've had a Marvy for many years and it's served me well. I got it originally at Michaels with a coupon.

I have a pink Marvy one!
And from now on I am only buying the zing embossing powders - they come in 54 colors!!! I got mine from www.AddictedToScrapbooking.com

Another one for the Marvy - I've had mine for 10 years and it still works great!

Thank you everyone for responding! Glad to hear no one has had any problems with the Marvy one! Off to give it a whirl!

I have a Nicole heat gun and have had it for many years with no problem. I purchased it at AC Moore or Michaels, don't remember which.

I only use Ranger brand embossing powders. I feel they are the best quality. Besides I can purchase them in AC Moore which saves shipping costs. They also offer the best selection of colors too.

Gale, I have that same one and I LOVE it!!!! It's the same one that you see Tim Holtz using. I've got a crack in mine (really old) and I've tried to find another like it...but no luck. I have bought two new ones and I don't like either one...one is the Marvy and they both get too hot. With the "Heat It", I've never scorched anything!!!
