Have You Used A Zutter DreamKuts Machine ?
 

Has anyone used this machine? Does it work well and does it make nice cuts?

I had one and I wasn't impressed with it. I bought it to primarily cut 8-1/2 x 11 cardstock in half for making cards. It didn't cut them evenly in half. There was a difference of about 1/16". Maybe I'm just picky but this just irked the heck out of me as then the scores made with the Scor-It board were off just a tish for EACH card because one half would be 1/16" bigger and the other half cut was 1/16" smaller - so the score line was never in the center because of the uneven cut.

I ended up getting the Making Memories magnetic paper trimmer at Michaels with a 40% off coupon and I've had straight cuts ever since. LOL

So... I vote NO on the Dreamkutz but YES on the Bind It All. :)

I really like mine and it cuts evenly. Makes it super easy to cut cardstock in half and also quarters for doing cuttlebug folders. Oddly enough I have the opposite reaction for the bind it all I think the wires are too flimsy for making books.

I like my dreamkuts but sometimes it doesn't cut in half evenly and sometimes the 12x12 doesn't fit right (for the half cut)

Does it cut other sizes well or do most of you use it for cutting paper in half?

I haven't done as much with the cutting in other sizes but the few times I have it's worked pretty well. Like any cutter you need to make sure to get the paper in straight and have the guides snug so it won't slip and cut unevenly but it's really not that difficult. If anyone else with a dreamcuts has any cool ways of making different sizes for layering for cards I'd love to hear about it. You know take x sized piece of paper and cut it up this and that way so you can make certain layouts. I've been meaning to do this but haven't gotten around to it yet.

I usually use another cutter just to make my 8.5x11 to maybe 8x10.5 and then trim again. That works alright. I don't use the 1/3 cut as much as I should be we'll see. Overall I would say it's good b/c I make a lot of the same cards for sale and it helps my OCD ;)

I was going to get one on hsn the other night and they sold out of them before I could even reach for the phone. I have seen it demoed at the convention last year and debated weather to get one or not. I figure I'd wait a little bit and think it over. I did buy the BIA at the convention..lol
Hoping they have it at the convention in April, I think I will buy one then. This way I don't have to worry about paying shipping and handling...lol

I love my dreamcuts! It makes it so simple to cut lots of stuff the same size. I use it anytime I need to cut lots of paper into uniform sizes.

Can it cut to like 4.5 x 6.5? To make mats? That would be the deal breaker for me

It can cut pretty much any size in half, so if you started with paper that was 9 x 6.5 or 4.5 x 13 then it would! :) There's one slot that will cut any size in half and another slot that will cut 12" paper into exact thirds. It's a handy tool if it cuts straight for you.

So for what you want, no not really. You can't dial in a size to cut.

DreamKuts is manufactured by the same company as the Bind-it-All, and is a great companion product. About the size of a small printer, DreamKuts is an automatic paper cutter with two slots for your paper. You will "feed" your paper into one of two slots at the top of the machine, and the cut paper will come out of a third slot below.
The guides in the top slot of the machine are 12 inches apart and adjustable towards the center. When you are using paper smaller than 12 inches wide, you will push both black guides towards the center of the machine until each guide touches the edge of your paper.

The top slot has one blade, centered. Whatever size paper you center between those two guides will be cut perfectly in half.

The black guides in the lower slot are not movable, but there are lines on the machine to show you exactly where the two blades are. The lower slot has two blades four inches apart. If you run 12x12 paper through the lower slot, it will be cut into three 4" strips.

If you run 11-inch paper through the lower slot with the paper all the way to the left OR all the way to the right, you can get two 4" strips and a 3" strip.

Using a sheet of 12x12 paper as an example, here's how it would work. You run it through the first slot and you'll have two sheets of 12x6 paper. You can run the 12x6 through the first slot a second time, and get four 6x6 sheets -- or you can run the 12x6 sheets through the second slot and get 4x6 sheets. You can also put the 4x6 sheets through the first slot and get 4x3 sheets.

DreamKuts will be very handy for cutting identical book pages quickly and precisely. It does not replace your paper cutter because you can't cut wherever you want to cut, just where it is made to cut.

Sharp yet safe internal blades never need replacing!

I love my Dreamkutz... Mine cuts perfectly even. I just used it to cut two whole packages of 12x12 paper into 6x6 pieces and was done in just a few fun filled minutes. :) My stack of paper was so pretty and perfectly cut, I just kept flipping through it.......... makes the mundane chore of cutting paper evenly, fun!

Where can you purchase the Dream Kuts and how mush is it approximately?

I purchased mine at Archivers for about $90 minus 30% off since I had one of their coupons. My Dreamkuts is the blue one and now there is a pink one, but I do believe that is a little more expensive. Try searching "DreamKuts" and see who sells it and at what price.

I have one and I love it. It sure makes cutting lots of square/rectangle pieces of paper easy. I have the blue one.

i LOVE mine! i am actually on my second one since i am a clutz and dropped the first one! its perfect for cutting mats for the cricut! plus if you like making mini albums or books all your pages are the same! the only time i have had uneven cuts was due to operator error lol. i also have the bind it all and love it too!
