Interestingly, as Fifiwesfan pointed out, WRMK is now selling theirs as part of a bundle on HSN. Maybe American Craft (which owns WRMK) has changed positions?
More has happened since May, and the hundreds of pages of court documents are public, but there's a fee.
I still wanna know the differences!!!
I thought with it being shown at the Carson Rubber Stamp thing that someone would have posted online about the differences.
I still really disagree with MSP challenging Tonic and WRMK. Their stamp presses are way different! I'd back her 100% going after the Stampaholic, the HA and the other direct copy.
I'm over all the drawn out legal stuff - just let us people get what we want!
I'm tempted to buy a second TH, one of the new model released in the US, so I will have a spare in case MSP wins the suit and they have to take it off the market. It's just a better tool for my purposes. I would hate to see it disappear.
While anything could change at any time since strategies or settlement discussions aren't made public, at this point it looks like it will drag on for a while, just typical law suit stuff: motions filed to dismiss with lists of applicable lawsuits, opposition to motions, change of venue requests and opposition, etc.
So maybe a bunch of Tonic platforms will hit the U.S. market soon and everyone who wants one will get one, and we'll find out what's different.
I know it's easy for me to seem calm since I have one (and really like its sturdiness). But no matter what happens with the suit, they should be available, either here or the UK or both.
And if not I'll sell mine to the highest bidder, minimum $250. (Kidding!)
Yep, I expect one is enough. My inner hoarder is kicking in. My hope is that everyone on a preorder list gets a TH one way or the other, and soon. I can't remember a time when a craft tool was more anticipated than this one.
I'm a little embarrassed to admit this, but I bought the UK version even though I have one on pre-order. I know, what am I going to do with two TH Stamp platforms? I just couldnt' help myself and I was getting a little impatient waiting for them to be available in the US.
Hey now you can compare and post the differences if any. I use stamp positioners every time I stamp. I often use more than one at a time when I am doing multiple steps. It's like having several sets of measuring spoons.

I do remember that the We R Memory Keepers Envelope Punch Board was hard to find, and very coveted when it came out.

I ordered this as a way to hedge my bets (it shipped yesterday) against any issue that might cause my pre-ordered TH one from shipping. A bird in the hand, as they say...;)
There's a FB post of an Instagram post from Mario today-looks like they may be on sale- the 'tweaked' version, at Carson Stamp show. If so, then they should be shipping soon!
The WRMK press has been changed to include 3 different options - a plate for for stamping, one for printing and "big binder clip" to hold stencils -- https://www.hsn.com/products/we-r-me...bundle/8416417 you can watch the presentation from here. Offers more -- changed from the original -- pretty cool. Exclusive to HSN for now.

I just got an email from Stampers Anonymous announcing the arrival of the platform and giving free shipping through Friday. I clicked on the link and in big red letters "this product has been delayed until mid-July." I have serious doubts that the platform will ever be for sale in the U.S.

I may be mistaken, but I believe the new version is pictured on Simon Says Stamp. There is a grey square in the upper left hand corner where the two rulers meet. In earlier photos it was all black.

Nice bundle. Tempted.
I never had the WRMK Letter Press. It looks like it was quite different from the typeset plate that's included in this new 3-in-1 Precision Press (stamp platform, stencil clip, typeset plate), right? It looks like the original Letter Press uses ink from a tube and brayers, and the typeset plate on the new one uses ink pads with letters that fit into the grid. That was with a quick search; maybe I'm mistaken?

Remember Tim saying "tweak" and that most people wouldn't notice? Barbara noticed. ; )
Hi
I pre-ordered the Tim Holtz platform in January. I just today got the email that it has shipped! Went out today tracking number and all LOL. I do have the Misti...regular size, got it immediately when it came out. It has been great for some things for sure!
When doing a basic card, I make 5x7 cards unless for a swaps where A2 is required.
I will be using the Misti more since I just joined a swap 2 months ago, but for everything else I am very excited to have the larger platform! Especially with large pieces of watercolor paper
Just wanted to let you know that it shipped today

I only noticed because I was actively looking for something different with the ruler. For a while now there have been comments about the ruler and the fact that the 2 rulers don't touch in the new version.
I don't think I would have noticed it if I hadn't been looking for it!
That's so silly!! Not like the rulers meeting on the corner (on the misti or the Tim Holtz) actually DO anything. They are in the corner, they cannot be used to measure anything, they are merely a blank space that matches the colour of the rulers. MADNESS!!
The ’909 Patent is generally directed to
a novel stamping tool for craftwork that
includes a substantially rectangular base TH is square, a workspace how can you patent a workspace??, a widthwise raised side portion, a
lengthwise raised side portion TH has 2 sides raised, 2 sides open. Misti is full enclosed, and a substantially rectangular cover portion attached to the base
by at least one hinge TH again is square and the cover portion is not attached
I can't actually see anything in the lawsuit about the measuring guides meeting in the corner. But maybe they are pre-empting it.

The Letter Press is different than the Stamp Press. The Letter Press did use inks from a tube, special paper to absorb it (cotton, I think) and a brayer -- it was a "real" letterpress - and the imprint sank into the soft paper. If I remember correctly, you then ran it through an embossing machine to get the imprint. I'm sure that you could probably have used it as a stamp press too (regular stamps and ink and no embossing machine). Here's an example of the Letterpress: https://www.amazon.com/Memory-Keeper...memory+keepers
This is a stamp press - and the bottom is grid-ed and holds the paper in place without magnets -- I have the original version of this stamp press (before it became an issue) and it holds the paper well and stamps nicely. The new one now offers a new plates. I like that it is open ended - so I can use a variety of sizes of paper.
Loving my "tools" - I ordered this one and I have the Tim Holtz one on order too (shhh! - don't tell hubby! )

My lips are sealed. You can trust me; mine doesn't know I have two Cuttlebugs since I couldn't resist the spa blue one. ; )
I bet you love the Tim platform. No worrying about my CPR stamping hurting it. It's one tough cookie.
Thank you for confirming what I saw. Somewhere back in this thread and/or the other Tim platform thread there's a link to an article a few years old showing the original WRMK Letterpress used as a stamping platform. You know - two pieces of hinged plastic we've become fond of.
I keep eyeing the WRMK bundle on HSN, and it's only $5.00 shipping. I wonder if they'll come out with more fonts for the letter grid. If they're only selling on HSN, I'd doubt it.
If I was being honest with myself (hard for crafty things!) I have enough similar stamp sets and stencils so they add only a bit of value. And how many platforms do I need?
Couldn't I be addicted to something cheap like #2 pencils?
The Funkie Junkie Boutique had refunded all monies taken for the earliest preorders. Today I received an invoice for that. paid it and am hoping to have a shipping notice tomorrow. The LSS announced today that a limited number will arrive in the store tomorrow. Can this really be happening at last?
I received an e-mail from Simon Says Stamp today that mine has shipped!!!! I live in Canada so it will be enroute for about 10 days ... a nice treat for me for my 70th. It will be fantastic if it doesn't get stopped at customs and I get slapped with duty on it plus the $9.99 fee they charge for collecting it!!!
