Handle Cranking for smaller die cut machine

I used a 50% off coupon at Joann and bought the Spellbinders Prizm. I saw that it was a small die cutter which I really wanted - to just have on my desk to quickly die cut words. I was so surprised how many times you have to crank the handle to run it through! Does anyone know if with the Side Kick or the other minis out there now, how much cranking you have to do? I'm fully capable of doing it, lol, it was just an annoying surprise.

Interesting, I never thought about it?! I have a cuttlebug, but picked up a small sidekick @ Tuesday Morning about 2 years ago. I use mine for small thin dies and have not experienced the need to expend an unnecessary amount energy. The dies are usually short and don't need much cranking. The only complaint I have is finding replacement cutting, etc, pads.

For my small dies I use the SideKick plates with my Big Shot. Very quick.

For small dies I only crank an inch or two in and then reverse. On both my Big Shot and Vagabond. There’s no need for the platform to go all the way through.

That is such a good idea to not run it all the way through!!! Just to turn and run it back. I'll try that tonight, thank you for the idea! - Catherine
