Default Martha Stewart Pansy Punch is Useless!

I've been trying for three hours to punch a border with the Martha Stewart Pansy border and corner punch. The corner punch is beautiful, works perfectly. The border punch is garbage, and I am so disappointed. No matter how carefully I line it up, it refuses to punch the border properly. It cuts up the corners. Watched videos, etc to no avail. It simply does not work. I have wasted SO much cardstock with this thing. It's about to go in the trash. Got it as a Christmas gift so I have no way of returning it-don't even know where it was bought. Buyer beware. I am afraid to try the other border/corner punch set I got now for fear it will be just as useless. :(

Maybe you have a defective punch . If so you can call EK Success to replace it.

However, I found those punches only punch in one directions even though there are guide marks on bother ends. And it seems to me that I had to align the paper all the way to the right end of the punch and then move the paper so I was actually punching toward the left.

Does that make sense ?

If that doesn't work try punching in the other direction or call EK Success

I figured it out. Apparently they will only work properly on certain sizes of card stock. I trimmed mine down and it worked! Boy do I feel like an idiot....

Don't feel bad we have all been there. In fact some where there is a long thread of the " DUH" things we have all done such as glue the front of the card on to the base backwards so it opens from left to right :(

I never thought you didn't see the list of paper sizes that is included with the punch. I just thought it was not lining up

Happy you figured it out .

I feel like that every day lately. I spent yesterday trying to make one single card, I totally messed it up three times. I was so sick of it by the time I finished, I can't stand to look at it. To make matters worse, I decided to post on a thread and give my, crazy, opinions on a topic without knowing the facts. And, I ended the day by texting something I shouldn't have to the wrong person. Don't feel bad, I totally won the idiot award yesterday!

My favorite mistake is stamping the inside of the card on the wrong side, after it's finished. I've done that more than once.

Don't feel too silly - many of us have done just what you did. It took me a while to figure out the size of the card makes all the difference.

For Christmas I made some gifts of note cards with a punched border on the bottom front. I had to do some experimenting to see what size to cut my notes so the border would come out even!

Here's what I came up with, with the eyelet scalloped border:

Me, too, Denise. And what is more crazy, sometimes I've made a mistake like that, told myself how dumb it was, and then done exactly the same thing over again on the next card.

Glad you figured out you had to have specific sizes to get the MS punch around the page borders to line up right. I love the pansy punch. I have several different ones. I wish they didn't have to be specific size papers, but I just adjust the rest of the card to match the piece I cut with MS.

Hey Bugga I love that font you used on your card! Is that a stamp or did you print it. If you printed it, do you remember the name of the font?

Sorry for the hijack!

Cat, I love it, too. It's called Frosting for Breakfast, and it was free. Maybe I got it at Defont, but can't remember for sure. Anyway, it was free, and you could probably google and find it.
