Default Grid paper (other than SU)

I'm running out of my table protection grid paper that is sold by SU. I don't want to place an SU order when that is the only item I need (just too much shipping cost). Any other brands out there? Maybe something on Amazon. My feeble search attempt wasn't helpful! I don't want to spend hours searching, when I could just ask all you lovely people!

It's really the cheapest option - some places sell half as much for the same price - even with free shipping - here are a few examples

Ampad via Amazon - $15.97 for 50 sheets - no ruler

Staples - 50 sheets no ruler - $13.49 - no shipping if you got it in store.

Believe me - I've looked because I go through hundreds of these per month at my classes and I've never found anything that was a better bargain or had measurements - which I use - not sure if you find that useful.

I'll be interested to see if anyone has any ideas!

I read a post where the idea was to laminate a piece of grid paper, then you can re-use one sheet over and over

Know any builders or other tradesmen?
My brother in law gives me big pads of gridded paper that are given to him from suppliers .. okay so they have got advertising on them but it's not as though I care!

I do want the measurements because I use them. And I do need it to be paper because I stamp off on the sheets for second gen as well as other stamping techniques, trying colors, cleaning etc. I'll wait and see if there are a few more ideas, otherwise I guess I will order from SU. Thanks for the tips so far.

If you're ordering from SU!, ask your demonstrator to hold your order til she has enough orders to make the shipping cost 10% rather than the $6.95 minimum. Or gather orders from some friends and make a party yourself. Sale-A-Bration makes more enticing through the end of the month.

I wouldn't want to pay $7 to ship an $11 item, either!

If you had a laminated one, for the grid, you could use any old recycled paper to stamp off, right? or even cheap computer paper.

Great point. Just wanted to add that covering the grid paper with wax paper also works (I don't have a laminator). Since the back wouldn't be entirely covered with wax paper, that side could be used for stamping off, sponging, etc.

What size are SU Pads? If its A4, you can download printable graph paper from here
You could make it A3 if you have an A3 printer.

It's a desk blotter size and has a handy ruler on the bottom and left hand side. http://www.stampinup.com/ECWeb/Produ...oductID=130148

I use a craft mat to stamp off, blob glue, blend colors etc. and I'm free to mess as it's so easy to clean! Jennifer McGuire covered her self-healing mat with the grid lines with a craft mat, and the way she attached it (non perm glue I'm thinking) you can see the lines and ruler right through it. I'm thinking of trying that myself.

Do you happen to have a link to that post that shows how she did it?

I don't think she filmed that --she just mentioned it in one of her technique videos. You can see it in her more recent videos from time to time. Next time I see it, I'll leave a comment and ask her!

Yes, the SU paper is the best price and has the centering and regular ruler. I'm still on my first pack after 5+ years and have an extra old pack with the blank side.

Do you actually use the grid? Or just want an oversized piece of paper? When I have done projects at work, we have used computer paper. I think that is what it is called. It is bigger than Legal paper and the largest size that will fit in our copier.

I found it! I remembered seeing it not too long ago and went looking. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R6i8WwV30_w

The part about the craft mat starts at 7:25. I will play with my craft mat to see if I could make something similar.
