Is there an alternative to the non stick craft sheet - it is a sheet that looks just like the Ranger one and has a friction type of bottom so it doesn't slide on the table and doesn't have to be taped down? I know I've seen someone with one but can't remember who or where (and I usually forget my tape so I can't tape my Ranger one down!)
We have the Stay Put Craft Mat for sale at Scor-Pal.com. It does as it is called, does not move around, stays in place, corners do not lift up. I use hot glue on it, acrylic paint, distress inks etc and they just wipe off. It is awesome. The full description, size etc. is on the web site.

Cheapest alternative is cooking parchment paper (next to wax paper in the grocery store). Pull off a sheet in the needed length and away you go! A sheet lasts and lasts and lasts.
Second cheapest is a Teflon Pressing Sheet in a sewing or quilt department or store. There are two thickness of these...both are an opaque white. I use both thicknesses. They're available in two or three sizes, so get the one you want. BTW: JoAnn has them, so wait til there's a coupon. These sheets are almost indestructable...I've got some that are over 20 years old.
Another pressing sheet used by stitchers and quilters is a brown Fiberglas blend. Same one Ranger sells as The Craft Sheet...only difference is that the one purchased in a sewing or quilt department or shop will be cheaper.
If you want to keep either a Teflon or Fiberglass sheet in place, wipe off the counter with a damp sponge before placing the sheet down. The damp surface will help secure the sheet.

Don't have the Stay Put, I have the Ranger mat. Love it but yes, it moves and two of the edges curled. I'd forgotten about the Stay Put til I read this post. THANKS for reminding me.

I need to put this on my "Wish List"...looks like a fantastic idea Diana! My sheet is always moving around & it gets very annoying, so I need to save my pennies for this one!
I found 12 inch x 15 inch chopping mats at Dollar Tree that come 2 in a package for $1. I bought a couple of packages (4 mats for $2) and use the mats all the time for crafting. And because I have more than 1, I can leave them in different places for crafting, or work on two different projects at the same time. I love them!
I came across an item on QVC which I ordered and really like. For anyone familiar with QVC it's item #K35558. It is a 70"x24" silicone liner with grid lines for easy cutting to size. It's much heavier than the Ranger mat, doesn't slide or curl. It's $20 plus shipping and taxes but it will make multiple mats. And it comes in colors.
I have a dedicated craft table so I actually used some rubber cement to stick my ranger craft mat to the table. I used my brayer (which in all honesty is the handy roller from pampered chef...) I glopped on some rubber cement to one side and spread it as best i could and then laid it out on the table. I used the roller to smooth out any bubbles from underneath. Since it was rubber cement, what eeked out under the edges rubbed right off. This is just a staple here on my desk at this point. I used it for everything from hot gluing, inking, painting you name it! It lays flat and doesnt move. Works so well, I even have my smaller mat on the 'return' portion of my desk.

Just ordered mine & I can't wait to get it! Finally a mat that will stick in place & not move around. I only ordered 1 for now, if I like it I'll order another 1 for the kitchen & cut that to my needs. Thanks again for the info.
